Blackout really looks good. When is the beta open for the XBox?

I picked this up so I will be playing on PC. The only reason I did was because I am doing Origin Access Premiere for BFV, Anthem, and others so I had $ to spare

As you read this at the start of your week, itā€™s hard to believe that the worldwide release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is just days away. Three years of development, five months since our May reveal event, and nowā€¦ just days away. Itā€™s a blend of exciting and surrealā€¦ and weā€™re counting down the hours, too.
As we collectively prepare physically, mentally and spiritually for Friday, there are a few things that we wanted to put on your radar:

  • Game Download Size: Weā€™re happy to report that we have made a ton of improvements to optimize the Day 1 experience ā€“ the game download will be approximately 55 GB, and it will allow us to pack as much as we can into the game. A full list of details can be found here, and weā€™re happy to report that Blackout is fully playable once the download reaches about 30% completion (about 16-20 GB depending on platform). (A full download will be required to play Multiplayer, Zombies, and Specialist Headquarters).
  • Game Pre-load Info: Youā€™ve been asking when you can start pre-loading the game, and weā€™re here to help. Pre-loading on consoles will start at 12AM on October 10th in your local time , so if youā€™re up late tomorrow night, get ready to start that pre-load before bed. For PC users, pre-loading will begin worldwide at 9PM Pacific on Tuesday, October 9th .
  • Special Update from the Studio: This week, weā€™ll broadcast a beta post-mortem video that provides developer insight into a number of the specific updates made to Multiplayer and Blackout as a direct result of your beta feedback. When we talk about what weā€™ve packed into that Day 1 update, this should help you get a better feel for what weā€™re talking about. This wonā€™t be the average Treyarch livestream ā€“ think of it as a video version of a Reddit post. Weā€™re going to get in the weeds. Stay tuned to our Twitter feed and weā€™ll let you know when it drops.
  • Special Launch Streams: We are planning to participate in some special launch-timed livestreams ā€“ as tune-in details become public, weā€™ll be sure to amplify those.

Thanks again to everyone for your patience, feedback, and support, and stay tuned as we count down to launch on October 12th. We canā€™t wait to jump in and play with all of you.

What are you playing? Iā€™ve only been in Blackout. Itā€™s a ton of fun. Itā€™s a good cross between fortnite and pubg (except it works).

Blackout is great. Once they get the lag knocked out on Xbox it is going to be a blast. I am sure they have record numbers playing so they is to be expected.

Blackout is a frigging blast. They just need to fix whatever is going on with the lag (network or FPS, Iā€™m not sure what it is).

Blackout is really good. Only played normal multiplayer yesterday, jumped into Blackout solos this morning, got a win on my 10th match, itā€™s a lot of fun. If you see me online Iā€™d be down to do some Blackout squads. Solo is fun but too stressful.

EDIT: On Xbox.

Yeah, I agree. I donā€™t like to do solos in any BR game. I prefer duos or quads.

Got some MP in tried KB&M then tried controller. I decided to stay with KB&M even though I am a noob with it after a couple games it got a bit easier (and it didnā€™t hurt that I mapped a lot of buttons to the many buttons on my G600)

Best CoD in a looong time. Got it for BR, but so far multiplayer, zombies and BR are all tight. Fast, but not moon shoes crack addict mirrors edge bull shitty.

I havenā€™t felt this good about a CoD since Modem Warfare 1/2. Ymmv but I highly recommend it.

What platform are you playing it on?

Tried Blackout for the first time the other night and came in #3ā€¦well what do you know I may have skillz after all

Lots of controversy about the server lag. Apparently the server tick rate was 60hz during beta and it is 20hz now. I read that it has been lowered every patch.

20hz. Wow. Cant go much lower.

20 hz and funky hit boxes.

I hadnā€™t played a COD game in years, Iā€™m glad to know it isnā€™t entirely my imagination that things felt weird.

They really need to fix Quads in Blackout. Blackout works great in Solo and Duos but is a shit show in Quads for whatever reason. Laggy as all hell, the gameplay is so choppy.
