Game of Thrones Talk (Spoilers welcomed!)

Kraig, stop overthinking it. It’s a damn dragon!

Lol ninja!

Cerci is certifiably bats shit crazy and preggers. Littlefinger is a devious c*nt and that’s one hell of an advanced party heading north. Tyrion has balls, another bastard back (actually glad). Quite a season so far! And Jamie getting pulled from river with armor still Intact is bs.

“Robb, I write to you with a heavy heart. Our good king Robert is dead, killed from wounds he took in a boar hunt. Father has been charged with treason. He conspired with Robert’s brothers against my beloved Joffrey and tried to steal his throne. The Lannisters are treating me very well and provide me with every comfort. I beg you: come to King’s Landing, swear fealty to King Joffrey and prevent any strife between the great houses of Lannister and Stark.”

That’s what that note said huh?

Daenerys is truly becoming evil, Tyrion is questioning his choices now. Also, the dragon liked Snow.

What was the annulment about? Was that in reference to Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark?

I liked how Davos greeted Gendry, “I thought you’d still be rowing”. Basically GoT writers acknowledging the standard Reddit meme.

And Jon Snow should of brought Brianne up for his buddy Tormund. He’s a bit smitten.

For context, Gilly was reading from Maester Maynard’s book in Oldtown when she comes across a line that reads: “Maynard says here that he issued an annulment for Prince Rhaegar and re-married him to someone else at the same time in a secret ceremony in Dorne.”

This is significantly important. Why? Because it could mean that Jon Snow is a legitimate Targaryen, not a bastard like we all thought for many years. Bear with us.

Looking at next week’s previews it seems as though the group behind the wall don’t all get along. I’m pretty sure Gendry was smashing one of the Brothers without Banners face in. Possibly the Red Priest guy.

2 Wild predictions for next week. Jon Snow and the Avengebros get in some serious shit (this isn’t the prediction) and Drogo comes in and saves them all.

Then Drogo humps Jon’s leg.

Or, Drogo get’s killed saving the Avengebros and becomes the Night King’s Bitch.

Yup. Gilly in what was seeming to start as a throwaway line just dropped a bomb - Jon Snow is Jon Targaryen, and is no bastard.

Other great things about this great episode:

  • Sam Tarly is tired of reading about great men, and seems determined to become one. I believe that book with the bomb about Jon Snow is also with them, because he gave it to the boy before they packed up. We’ve thought he was going to be the narrator for GoT in the end, what if he winds up the last one standing?
  • Gendry not going with Davos’ story and revealing who he is. Also, did anyone else notice the banter between Gendry and Jon (“You’re thinner”, “You’re a bit shorter”) was a callback to Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark’s greetings to each other when King Robert came to Winterfell in ep 1 to ask Ned to be his Hand?
  • Yeah, Danys is showing some of her father’s tendencies. I started to think it was happening last ep, but how she dealt with the Tarlys was the capper.
  • So, is that Raven scroll legit that Arya “found”? Looks like Littlefinger is trying to start trouble between the sisters. Is that damn pervert trying to aim younger with the Stark women?
  • I’m glad Ser Jorah is back. And that group heading beyond the wall is great! I can’t wait to see how this plays out next week. I also think Dany and Drogon somehow wind up in play. Maybe the first significant victory for the living? Of course, this is GoT, so I doubt it.

Yes, but IIRC he has yet to know it because I think he left before the Maesters told him.

It will also be interesting to see his reaction when he finds that Jon Snow is aligned and possibly related to the Queen who BBQ’d his Dad and Brother.

Only problem is he’s still in the Night Watch.

Every time I see Cersei I don’t think she’s lost her mind I think she knows something no one else does besides Qyburn. I think she has more than one spy in Dragonstone even against 3 dragons she is not worried. Im guessing Qyburn is the unknown factor here as he is the one who made Gregor Clegane
the walking dead. And access to all the maester lore. Cersei may be working with the King of the White Walkers for all we know. She knows something she won’t even tell Jaime. The " don’t betray me again" tells me she’d throw Jaime to the dragons if need be. Do you suppose Cersei may have a way to get one of those dragons. Clear now only 3 have come within arms length of those dragons and lived Tyrion, Jon and Dany .

Even though he was detached from his dad and brother, it may still be awkward when he finds he’s now aligned with the person who Kentucky Fried their asses.

And I’m not even sure there will be a Night’s Watch when this is all said and done.

Oh, and I’m starting to hate Sansa almost as much as Cersei, although it’s more I find her annoying as fuck. Dany could french fry her and I wouldn’t mind a bit.

Wow, what is wrong with you! Is this how Nebraskan’s treat people they don’t like?

I don’t doubt that Cersei knows some things that others around her don’t, but I also think she’s following a parallel with Tywin as he came closer to his demise. Tywin started getting very arrogant and was underestimating people in the end, the most fatal being his son Tyrion. I think Cersei is getting drunk with power as well and while she has some plans and tricks up her sleeve, she’s also starting to underestimate those around her. Jamie would be the first one I’d suspect underestimating would be her undoing.

I think everything is repeating itself. It’s a common theme with GoT.

Very common, and it really hit with this week’s episode. There were a lot of parallels with past events.
