It’s been quite some time since I played this game. I think I’m maybe a level 17. I haven’t even beaten the story yet. Will I have a hard time now that everyone else has been playing and are ranked much higher than me?

I did a patrol for about an hour last night. It was fun just messing around and getting a feel for the game again.
lvl 24? patrol missions and buy armor from the dudes… you can get to lvl 31 without raids… if you want…
Beat the game finally. Lvl 19 now.

DLC question:
I don’t have it. It’s $19.99. Is it crucial for me to have the DLC if I’m going to try and get back into the game? Aren’t there better weapons and whatnot in the DLC? $20 seems a bit steep to me for DLC. I’m use to the $10-$15 pricing scheme (I know… what’s another $5… I get it).
I did enjoy playing the game the past two days. I bought it as a DL game so I was invested to give it a chance from the get go. Gonna keep playing. Hopefully I don’t get bored too quickly. Right now I’m splitting my time between GTA Online and Destiny. Waiting to see what Gamefly sends me (either Dragon Age or COD). I prefer it be COD because I want to finally give that a go.
The DLC is really needed for Destiny’s “End Game”. The new raid and missions. So if you want to continue playing Destiny, you’ll probably need it.
My thoughts on the DLC? It’s weak. The raid is nowhere as good as the Vault of Glass. The Eris bounties are a MASSIVE grind that forces you to rehash old content OVER and OVER. Weapons? There are a few new ones but not enough. It’s mostly just upgraded exotics (same guns that you already own) that you have to re-level. Enemies? Same fucking enemies but a level or two higher.
I know a lot of people will give me shit about it. Just ask yourself this, when have I cared? Destiny is a game that had so much promise but was hampered by Bungie just being lazy. I honestly think we would of all moved on if there was any better options out there.
