Overwatch fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on new content as the devs provided a major Overwatch 2 community update that includes a PVP beta.

It’s no surprise that Overwatch’s popularity has taken a significant hit in recent times. Luckily, fans of the franchise will soon have some bran-new content to dissect and discover as Overwatch 2 ramps up its release schedule.

Although there’s still a lot to learn about Overwatch 2, a recent community update on March 10 shared some key details about what players could expect. In addition, the devs stated that they are accepting sign-ups for the Overwatch 2 beta that is expected to be available in April 2022.

How to sign up to Overwatch 2 beta

In the video above, Overwatch Game Director Aaron Keller explained that a closed beta test would allow PC gamers to get their first look at the game in April.

All you need to do is sign up for the Overwatch 2 beta by following these simple steps:

  1. Make your way to the beta section of the Overwatch webpage or click the link in the Tweet below.
  2. Select the Opt-in option on the webpage which will take you to the Sign-up instructions.
  3. Log in through your Battle.net account.
  4. Once signed in, follow the instructions on the screen to sign up to the beta.

Opting in for the beta will give you a chance at accessing it once it is available in April. However, it is important to note that there is no guarantee of access and only the lucky will prevail.

It’s safe to expect some major changes with Overwatch 2 and perhaps the biggest change is the shift from 6-vs-6 gameplay to 5-vs-5. The game will certainly feel different for most players and the new maps should also add to the fresh feeling.

In addition to new maps, players will be able to test out the new Push mode. This new Overwatch mode will consist of teams competing to move a barricade into their enemy’s base in a tug-of-war fashion.

A new hero named Sojourn is also expected to be available in the beta come April and it’s no shock that players are eager to test out some new abilities.
