Modern Warfare Season 1 First Details Announced – Fan Favorite Maps And More

Back during the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare MP reveal in August, Activision sent a group of us a Snapchat AR code that, when activated through Snapchat, would showcase new intel on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The company has now once again updated the AR with intel on “new content” that is most likely coming with Season 1 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

The AR for this takes you around a 360 degree circle to showcase new content, and we’ve put together in a list what we saw plus the best images we could grab.

  • New Operator: Mara
  • Teaser for a classified character
  • Teaser for a potential new equipment (gas barrel)
  • New Operator: Nikto
  • Teaser with soldier over looking what appears to be a new map (Crash, potentially)
  • New map: Atrium
  • New map: Cargo
  • Teaser for a Special Ops Experience

Here’s the set of images. The images in the gallery are in the order listed in the list above:

There is no indication as to when Season 1 starts in Modern Warfare yet.

Are those actual new maps? I know Cargo is a BLOPS map (and one of my favorite drop spots in Blackout).

It’s hard to tell from the pic, and they haven’t officially said anything yet. But, to have a NEW map with the same name may be silly. However, Cargo isn’t an Infinity Ward Od map. Also, in the picture it looks like it might be small. First thing I thought of was the other small one - with all the containers, they re-made it for WWII.

Shipment?

Yeah. I’m not saying that’s it, but it’s the first thing I thought of from the pic, a form of Shipment

nevermind, it’s been updated now.

Updated @codplayers

Activision and Infinity Ward have announced the first details on Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Infinity Ward is shifting to a Season structure for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, as they have removed the Season Pass model for this year’s game.

Season 1 will officially begin on December 3 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Season 1 of Modern Warfare also brings the brand new Battle Pass system with both a free and premium track for players to earn cosmetic content in the game. This is the new system which replaces Loot Boxes. The Premium Battle Pass will be purchasable through Call of Duty Points in-game. The free Pass is available for everyone to earn new content.

Free Content Available To All

Here’s a look at the free Modern Warfare content all players will have access to that starts next week and will continue throughout the duration of Season One:

Crash (Multiplayer Map): The iconic Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare map has returned with all the flanking routes and action-packed rooftop encounters you remember.

Vacant (Multiplayer Map): An abandoned office, previously visited in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare , leads to intense interior combat across the complex.

Shipment (Multiplayer and Gunfight Map): The classic Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare map where fast and frenetic action reigns supreme.

Port (Ground War Map): Battle across massive shipping crates, cranes, buildings and streets in this unique Ground War map experience.

Cargo (Gunfight Map): An open-roof storage vessel for shipping containers, on docks of London.

Atrium (Gunfight Map): The centerpiece of a Verdansk palace, still intact despite the conflict raging nearby.

Additional Maps: Look for additional multiplayer maps as Season 1 progresses.

Reinforce (Multiplayer Mode): A hybrid of Dom and S&D, a single-life mode with both teams competing for control of three flags.

On Site Procurement (O.S.P.) (Gunfight Mode): A tactically rich 2v2 mode with a twist: Begin with just your fists, and gather equipment as the match progresses.

Infected (Multiplayer Mode): It’s hunt or be hunted in this survival party game mode!

Additional Modes: Look for more modes as Season 1 continues.

Bomb Squad (Special Ops Experience): Forces still loyal to Barkov have planted explosives around the city of Al-Raab. You’re here to defuse the situation.

Grounded (Special Ops Experience): Enemies have seized Barkov’s former airbase. Engage and eliminate them.

Pitch Black (Special Ops Experience): Infiltrate Barkov’s former estate and recover all required intel before an exfill in a Tactical Rover.

Just Reward (Special Ops Experience): Your squad targets the head of an enemy financial operation, hacking his data centers, and gaining intel.

Additional Content: Look for more Special Ops content as Season 1 continues.

Free Content Accessed through the Battle Pass System

Every single member of the Modern Warfare community can earn some of the tiers within the forthcoming battle pass system, including cosmetic items and two new base weapons. Look for more information about this on December 3.

Ram-7 New Weapon: Introducing a new fully automatic bullpup Assault Rifle with integrated picatinny rails at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock.

Holger-26 New Weapon: LMG spec of the Holger model rifle, with integrated sight rail and drum magazine for additional ammunition-carrying capacity.

Additional Notes

Note that some of this content may drop later than the Season One start date of December 3, and additional content may be added to Season One.

Check back here on December 3 where we’ll fully reveal the 100 tiers of the Battle Pass and reveal Season One in much greater detail.

They have shipment.

New…

In all seriousness, is this why there is no paid DLC? Are we just getting old maps?

Unless you’re playing 2v2, ground war or Spec Ops.

That said, I do like Vacant and Crash a lot.

What is this? Sounds awful.

Yeah, I like all 3 of those maps, but yeah. At least we didn’t have to buy a season pass to see this.

Cannot wait for “new” maps to play. The game should have shipped with more 6 vs. 6 maps.

The Battle Pass in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare technically includes enough bonus Call of Duty Points to purchase the next season’s Battle Pass.

The Battle Pass for each Season costs around 1,000 Call of Duty Points for the base Premium Pass in the game.

Here is the Battle Pass bundles available to purchase:

And through the Battle Pass, you earn Call of Duty Points. The total amount of Call of Duty Points you get through the Battle Pass is 1,300 Call of Duty Points.

This means you can then earn enough Call of Duty Points to buy the next season’s Battle Pass.

Call of Duty Points can also be used in the Item Shop in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to buy new cosmetic content, but if you want to save up the Points, you can till the next Season’s Battle Pass.

That’s typical for Battle Passes now. Fortnite does it knowing kiddos are just going to blow it anyway on new skins then have to pony up for the next pass. They bank on no self control.

So is anyone buying the “premium” pass?
