Monster Hunter: World Mega Thread

Thanks again to @EnyoBellona and @BalekFekete for helping me take down Nergigante! Feels good to stomp that Elder Dragon like it has been stomping me! I’ve got some footprint hunting in the Ancient Forest and some Nergigante bits to farm in the morning. Always something to do.

Last night @BalekFekete, @EnyoBellona, and yours truly took down Kushala Daora the Explorer, Teostra the Infernal Bread Burner, and Vaal Hazak the Gaseous! However we didn’t stop there! We then clipped the toenails of Xeno’jiiva! That was some good boss battle right there. Some awesome stuff has now unlocked for me. Also running low on mats for item box. Can’t decide what to farm first.

It’s funny that in a game with huge monsters, tiny bugs are the things that often make all the difference. We’re talking about technical bugs here, and Capcom has just released a patch to fix a few brought on by the 2.0 patch that added new monster Deviljho and more.

Capcom commented on the fixes:

In Update Ver. 2.00 (PS4), 2.0.0.0 (Xbox One), a balance update was done to the bow’s Dragon Piercer attack to fix a bug where you could shoot past the attack’s angle limitations. However due to this update, when the target is lined up with the reticle at a very fast speed and the Dragon Piercer fires, it was discovered that the player may not be able to face in the direction of the reticle. This has been fixed so that even if the player is aiming at a target quickly in a direction they are not facing, the reticle will still be able to aim in that direction. (Please note that during Dragon Piercer, if the reticle is aimed at an area outside of the allowed range, the attack will fire in the direction the player is facing)

When selecting loadouts during Arena Quests, a bug occurred where the item window order would change. However, this has now been retooled as part of the game design.

Details:

From the default cursor position, the item pouch order when checking equipment info will be from left to right.

Next, the fixed items will appear in the following order, left to right: Whetstone, Capture Net, Fishing Rod, and BBQ Spit.

The last items will be the specialized tools, listed from left to right.

The patch, which is numbered 2.0.0.1 for Xbox One, is live now.

Hell yeah…16 player mode

A new Elder Dragon named Kulve Taroth. A new area called The Caverns of El Dorado. New weapons and armor. Sixteen player sieges.

The Elder Dragon is the target of a new type of quest called Sieges. These limited-time events allow up to 16 players, divided into teams of four, to work together and hunt the same monster. The first Siege will coincide with the release of update 3.0 and won’t be available in the game for very long, although Capcom says it will return again at a later date.

After reading a few articles it sounds like you need to fill a session with 16 players. 4 people post the quest. The session joins those 4 quests so you’ve got 4 teams of 4. Each team battles Kulve in their own instance however the damage dealt and progress is shared to the entire session. I will get into a session today and research this FOR SCIENCE!
