Call of Duty: Black Ops III for older generation consoles will not come with the same features as the current-gen versions of the game.
According to the Call of Duty blog, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops III will not come with a single player campaign.
“The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware,” Activision posted on the blog.
The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will still have the full-featured multiplayer mode that includes the momentum-based movement system and Specialist classes. In addition, players will still have access to Shadows of Evil, Black Ops III’s new Zombies mode, which features an adventure inspired by 1940s film-noir.
Activision also noted in the blog that Weapon Paint Shop and the eSports tools for Black Ops III will only be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III launches on November 6. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be available for $50 USD and will include a download for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops in some regions.
In related Call of Duty: Black Ops III news, a new Black Ops III PlayStation 4 bundle featuring a black and orange design on the console and controller was recently revealed and is available for pre-order.

In all initial interviews with Treyarch regarding Blops 3 last Gen wasn’t mentioned because the last gen ports is a cash grab by Activision. Treyarch knew it wouldn’t work that’s why they are not involved. You get what you pay for, i guess. If they could put everything from Blops 3 onto old gen I would be complaining and saying $60 is too much
statistically isnt it like only 60% or less play SP??? i dont think last gen people really care that much about losing it.
CoD has a campaign, that’s news to me.
Seriously, I’m not buying CoD for the Single Player. They could do this for the current generation and id never notice.

I always play the campaign first, but either way if it’s not in the game, it shouldn’t be 50 bucks.
So to update this…It seems that Blops 3 is proving the point that it is time to upgrade to current gen for gaming.
Differences on Past Gen Blops 3:
- No campaign
- No paint shop or gunsmith
- 30 fps (ouch!!)
- There will be NO season pass offered
$50…anyone that buys this on last gen has problems. Though you have to give credit to the porting company for being able to even make it run (in theory!) on past gen
yeah 30 FPS isnt a huge deal… basically they know that whoever is buying the game on last gen isnt hardcore, they arent going to care for those features… my money is they dont even know they are missing them… besides the campaign… but nobody really cares abotu that anyway.
as far as the price… gotta pay somebody to port it…
not saying its bad overall lots of great shooters run on 30fps. But one thing CoD is known for is 60Fps. The game is designed on that principle so its kind of a slap in the face in that community
