What do y’all do with your kids on Live? Mine is 8 now and has Live and plays Minecraft and PvsZ: GW. His account is set up that he can only communicate with people on his friends list. He just has no one to play with. Is there anywhere that is the opposite of us where kids can make friends and is still safe.
My son plays Live all the time and he started when he was 8. When he first started I had a bunch of features blocked as well, but I talked to himy about jackasses and fools, and he understood. He was already telling me about people being dumb and acting stupid, so I showed him how to deal with them. Now, his blocked list is probably longer then his friends list.
As for something like us, or opposite of us, I have looked before and haven’t really had any luck.
My Daughter, 8 yrs old, is on live. Right now I have pretty must everything blocked. Can only talk to friends which she has none of At the moment. Don’t know if any of her friends actually have xbox. But then she just plays SP games and minecraft.
Live is a cesspool generally. Only allowed to com with certain friends
I haven’t allowed my kids on Live yet, but may be giving them sub accounts on PS4. Part of it is due to how people act on Live, but to be honest, I can put them on PSN as a sub account without paying extra. Too bad MS got rid of family plans. I’m going to limit their contact choices as well when that time comes.
My 10yo nephew got a 360 for xmas, but I didn’t create a xbl tag for him yet. I created an ms acount email for him for the day when he does want to go online with his friends from school. For now, he doesn’t mind playing by himself.
Oh yeah jonny. My kids have “sub accounts” on Live. I don’t pay for my kids accounts.
How do the kids get Sub accounts on Live? Do they have to be on an XBox with your tag on it? The only way I knew of was the now defunct Family Plan they had for 100/year. Or is this just an XB1 thing?
Yeah they got rid of the family plan. Just need the main person on the box have a sub for live.
So would I just create their accounts on the 360 that has my account on it, and they can have the benefits of Live as well?
My son was seven I think when xbox went live and we didn’t restrict his account because we played Halo spit screen to start. He had a lot of friends on too so it wasn’t long before we ended up with two consoles and he had no interest in playing games with the old man. By then he knew enough to be careful with it. I still kept his xbox in the room with mine so I could keep an eye on what was going on but we didn’t have any problems. I think I had more problems with asshats online than he did.
Yeah Johnny. Just have to make sure they are listed as part of your family. xbox one allows you to link accounts like this. Not sure about 360. Might have to do it on the web On microsofts family site. Forget the url right now.
