Some GTA VI Leaks and Rumours

According to an established leaker, GTA 6 is going to break new ground for the franchise and have a female protagonist lead the game. This would mark the first time this has ever happened in Grand Theft Auto’s history.

Rockstar did their best to innovate with GTA 5 and they did so admirably by having three different characters run in real-time, simultaneously. You can easily switch between Trevor, Michael, and Franklin and take advantage of their particular idiosyncrasies.

But now it seems like Rockstar wants to go one step further and put you in control of a female character too.

GTA VI female protagonist leak

The Grand Theft Auto games have had their fair share of female characters in the past and the idea of having a lead character makes perfect sense.

There’s been a significant and noticeable shift towards female leads in recent years. Most notably we’ve seen Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn, Jesse Faden in Control, Senua in Hellblade, Lara Croft, and many more.

So it seems apt for, arguably, video game’s biggest ever franchise to make this move. Thanks to Tom Henderson, notorious leaker of Call of Duty and various other games, on Twitter we may have confirmation of this.

He says that: “GTA 6 will have a playable female and male protagonist.”

Now, we don’t know if this is 100% true, but Tom Henderson has been correct about a lot of things in the past. We also don’t know if it’s going to be a la GTA 5 in that you can switch between both characters whenever you want to.

It’ll be interesting to see the relationship between the male and female characters. They could be romantically involved, brother and sister, or something else entirely.

The one thing we know for sure is that Rockstar’s track record of creating compelling narratives that could be worthy of the big screen is second-to-none. So if we do have a female lead, then Rockstar will do their best to make them memorable.

Players received a free jacket for participating in the 100 Billion Heist Challenge in November. This jacket features an easter egg which might be a hint that GTA 6 will take us back to Vice City.

GTA 6 might be set in Vice City

It’s been a long-running rumor that the next installment in Rockstar’s biggest franchise would be set in Vice City. Reddit user Fabry06 took a close look at the “Panther Varsity” jacket and found a reference that fuels this speculation.

The jacket’s front features a purple diamond and the number four. Looking at the back shows a picture of a panther and the “fake Latin” phrase “Hostes Ad Pulverem Ferire” which translates to “Pulverize the enemy.”

If you’ve played GTA Vice City and Vice City Stories, then you might recognize this text, as it could also be found engraved in the exterior of a building that resembles a courthouse in downtown Vice City. It was also found in San Andreas where it was used as a slogan for the Starballs Demolition.

“It might probably be just a reference to El Rubio panther and its enemies or something but at the end it still is a reference to Vice City,” said Fabry06. “Not saying they are directly hinting at GTA VI on Vice City or something but we’ve had some references in recent updates.”

GTA Vice City latin text

Many other players agreed that this is most likely Rockstar dropping hints at the potential setting for GTA 6. This has credibility when you consider that there have been a few other references to Vice City in the Cayo Perico heist.

Gustavo’s outfit closely resembles the one worn by Gonzalez in both Vice City games. The orange shirt with a floral pattern is a clear nod to the 2002 title, and this coupled with the Latin text on the jacket only makes the connection seem more likely.

“Great find. It could just be a simple reference but why reference Vice City of all places? Could be nothing, but I really feel like rockstar are teasing us here,” one player noted.

“At this point I am 100% convinced gta 6 takes place in vice city. It’s just a matter of what time period(s) and if the game will have another South American or American city.”

“Rockstar has been teasing VI this entire update going to a South American island, the coordinates on the first trailer that goes to that road in Virginia, all the little Vice City references like this one,” another player added.

Keep in mind that these are still just rumors, and nothing has been officially confirmed by Rockstar so far. There has been speculation that the studio has prioritized GTA 6 as its sole focus, so hopefully, we’ll hear something soon. Once we do, we’ll be sure to update you.

That’s cool but I wish GTA would allow us to create our own character. With the success of GTA online, I’m surprised they didn’t go that route. Have the main SP campaign, some co-op and then of course online. All the while being able to sell people custom clothes (etc).

I guess they want to keep a tight story for the campaign.

Vice City was such an amazing game. Sure later GTAs were better but god damn did you feel like you were playing Miami Vice and Scarface.

A new patent by Rockstar, to potentially use in GTA 6, has been discovered that will make the best NPCs and make them more complex and intelligent.

It’s been over seven years since GTA 5 first graced the gaming world and there’s still no official word that the 6th game is in development. Every passing day leaves GTA fans emptier and to fill this void, they are trying to find every bit of information they can.

“Their internet sleuthing seems to have uncovered an extremely interesting patent from Take-Two, which could have a major impact on NPCs in their future titles. Rockstar are well-known for filling their open-world games with as much detail as possible, and it appears that non-playable characters could be receiving a major upgrade moving forward.”

GTA 6 NPC patent

The patent, titled “System And Method For Virtual Navigation In A Gaming Environment” patent appears to show a complex set of decision-making algorithms that would affect how NPCs behave around each other and playable characters.”

There is also further evidence to suggest that this is a system to do with a potential new Grand Theft Auto game. The inventors are Simon Parr – Lead AI Programmer at Rockstar Games – and David Hynd – Associate Director of Technology at Rockstar Games.

Information about the patent was posted recently in a Reddit post and discussed by several users. The new system allows NPCs to be more dynamic and complex. You’d imagine the hope is that every player that plays GTA 6 will have new experiences and the world will feel different every time they step foot in it.

Rockstar is never one for settling for anything less than the best. So it’s entirely possible that we don’t hear anything official about GTA 6 for a long time yet.

What we do or don’t or who knows what we know, so far…

Rumors continue to swirl about Grand Theft Auto 6, and we’ve got everything we know about Rockstar’s next entry into the franchise, including possible release date, location, rumors, leaks, and more.

Official Grand Theft Auto 6 news is practically non-existent, much to the chagrin of fans of the series. It’s been a mind-boggling seven years since GTA V came out, and this is now the longest gap between the release of Grand Theft Auto games.

The success of GTA Online, and its base game, has been a huge factor in our wait for GTA 6 as the title has sold 140 million copies worldwide and rising. But the time is going to come when Rockstar is going to shake the world with the reveal of their latest sandbox playground.

Until then, we have a round-up of all the latest speculation and information we have so far.

GTA 6 release date

While the original PlayStation 2 GTA games, which could be released as a Grand Theft Auto Remastered Trilogy, were released a year apart, GTA 4 to GTA 5 forced fans of the franchise to wait an agonizing six years.

We are now going on eight years since the last games in the series, and there has been no official word from Rockstar regarding the next iteration in the storied franchise.

That may change sooner rather than later though. Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar, are confirmed to appear at E3 2021 in June. There’s no word on what they will be showing, but some fans are convinced it will be an announcement trailer for GTA 6, although there’s a good chance it will be aimed at GTA V Enhanced on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Job listings and domain names have also captured the imagination of GTA fans, but don’t get your hopes up too soon, as one leaker claimed Rockstar internally have GTA 6 set for a late 2023 release.

GTA 6 map & setting

One of the most exciting propositions regarding a new GTA game is its setting. The franchise has already set foot in London, and unofficially explored New York, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.

Similar to how GTA 5 revisited old ground, it seems that GTA 6 is set to do the same. Rockstar’s take on Miami seems bound for the series once more as Vice City is being touted as the setting for GTA 6.

After an image leaked in 2018 showing what appeared to be an updated Vice City, another picture surfaced online in May 2021, including new locations south of the city with roads twisting through the countryside.

Vice City was a tremendous setting and GTA positively thrived in its stylish 80’s aesthetic. Vibing synth beats and legendary songs were the perfect backdrops for a Scarface-inspired, drug-fuelled city.

Now, 18 years later, we may get to return to the neon nightlife. Given how far we’ve come technologically, Rockstar’s vision of a seedy Miami could be utterly incredible, and it’s something we’d love to see.

Unofficial GTA 6 leaks and teases

As we’ve said, because all the information about GTA 6 is so exceedingly threadbare, it means that any snippet of a leak becomes huge for the fans.

So far we’ve learned that there is a new GTA 6 patent leak suggesting Rockstar wants the best NPCs ever. Lots of undercover work from desperate fans led to the discovery of a patent called the “System And Method For Virtual Navigation In A Gaming Environment”. It’s basically a set of extremely complex algorithms to make the game’s city more alive than ever with fully independent NPCs.

Rockstar’s desire to innovate and defy conventional boundaries could also be about to go one step further in GTA 6 too. After having three playable protagonists in GTA 5, a leaker has claimed that GTA 6 will have a female main character.

Other rumors claim that the long-awaited sequel to Bully was canned allegedly due to GTA 6. This would suggest that GTA 6 has spent a good amount of time in development.

Finally, the idea of parachutes in Red Dead Redemption is either a bizarre anomaly or a complete accident. This is why logic would dictate that strange files in RDR2 are surely pointing towards the existence of a new Rockstar game. Whether it’s GTA on the PS5 & Xbox Series X or a new GTA game altogether.

Just to reiterate, this information is all leaks and speculation, but it could be a great indicator of some of the awesome stuff that Grand Theft Auto fans could have to look forward to.

GTA 6 2025 release window, Vice City setting, and Fortnite-style map reports corroborated

A recent report that suggested Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in a modern-day recreation of Vice City and might not be released until 2025 has been corroborated by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier.

Tom Henderson, who has proven reliable for insider Battlefield information, uploaded a video to YouTube last week explaining that he’d heard Rockstar will return to Vice City in GTA 6, but it will be a modern-day recreation of the setting with a map that evolves and change over time, similar to how Fortnite’s map changes with new seasons. Henderson also told viewers they shouldn’t expect GTA 6 until 2025 at the earliest and to take this information with a pinch of salt.

However, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier has now backed up Henderson, saying that everything he’s heard about GTA 6 “matches up” with Henderson’s report. In further tweets, Schreier says GTA 6 is still in early development, and it will have an evolving and expanding map. VGC’s Andy Robinson also tweeted, saying he has heard similar information to Henderson’s and Schreier’s.

Much like how Henderson urged his viewers, it’s worth taking this information with a pinch of salt until Rockstar makes any sort of official announcement. However, with multiple trusted sources backing up the rumour, it does make the leak seem a little more concrete.

Take-Two says it plans to launch 62 games by 2024, with one of those being Grand Theft Auto 5, again. Expanded and enhanced versions of GTA 5 and GTA Online will arrive for Xbox Series X|S on November 11th.
