The Game Awards 2016 Nominees Announced

We’re just weeks away from one of the biggest annual celebrations of video games, The Game Awards 2016. The show has taken some criticism in the past for putting the actual awards on the back burner in favor of reveals and teasers but most of the critics saying such things would also admit the presentation has come a long way in recent years. Producer Geoff Keighley puts more and more into the show with each year. Hopefully 2016’s show can be a successful one for all involved. According to the below list of nominees, it certainly was for the people making the games – not to mention those who are fortunate to play them.

Of the nominees, PS4’s Uncharted 4 leads the way with eight nominations in just six categories, quite a remarkable feat regardless of how much hardware the team at Naughty Dog walks away with come December 1st. Notable Xbox One titles include Gears of War 4 up for Best Action Game, Killer Instinct nominated for Best Fighting Game, and Forza Horizon 3, a likely shoo-in for Best Sports/Racing Game.

Check out the extensive list below of all awards and nominees, then be sure to leave your predictions in the comments.

I’m betting either Titanfall 2 or DOOM gets game of the year.

I’d always expect successful originals over sequels/remakes.
I only played the beta of Overwatch and it isn’t my type of game, but I perceive it to be very popular.
