XBOX ONE March Update.

Hot on the heels of the big update to Upload Studio, details of Xbox One’s March update have been revealed. Available right now to the members of the preview program, next month’s update is set to introduce screenshots, which has been a top requested feature.

For those who prefer reading over the video, let me run it down for you:

Screenshots:
While playing a game, double-tapping the button will immediately take a screenshot, and then pressing Y (as opposed to X for recording videos) will save it. Alternatively, you can say “Xbox, Take a Screenshot” which will take and save the screenshot.

The Upload app has been updated to include a separate section where you can manage your screenshots. These screenshots can be set as your background, and eventually can be shared to your activity feed, attached to messages, displayed in your Showcase, and even shared with your Twitter. Screenshots will also be visible in your profile, just like your game clips.

Suggested Friends:
In an effort to help gamers find other people who they may know, the Friends area and Friends list will be receiving a Suggested Friends section. This is based on people who are following you that you are not following back, people that you recently played with, and friends of friends. This section will also offer suggestions on people to watch based on their popularity in the community, whether it is top Twitch streamers or popular game clip creators.

Sharing your real name:
Two new settings will allow you to further control who you share your real name with. You will now be able to share your real name with all of your friends, or with everyone on Xbox Live. Currently you can select certain friends to share your name with, and whether or not to allow friends of friends to see your real name. You can still opt to not share your name, and continue using your Gamertag instead.

Tile Transparency:
February’s update added the ability to make some of the Xbox tiles transparent. With the new settings, you will be able to pick whether you want the tiles to be Mostly Solid, Partly Transparent, or Mostly Transparent.

Additional Updates:
A new privacy setting has been added in regards to sharing voice search data. In light of a recent increase in spam messages being received on Xbox Live, users will now have the ability to report messages as spam. For Australian owners, OneGuide will continue in preview for free-to-air TV listings, and those with an Xbox Digital TV Tuner can now use it with this month’s preview builds.
