Alien:Covenant aims for a "Hard R Rating"

Ok, I’m interested.

Ridley Scott aims to up the horror ante with Alien: Covenant, saying he’s targeting a “pretty hard R” rating for the film.

The director shared a few details about the movie backstage at the Golden Globes, teasing that he has something “much worse” than the original Alien’s horrifying chestbuster scene planned for Covenant.

Scott recalled his experience previewing Alien and watching that iconic scene, saying (via ComingSoon.net) it was at that moment he “realized how pretty scary the film was” and subsequently “felt a sense of responsibility that [he] had gone too far because it was extreme.” That said, he’s aiming to “do that again this year” with Alien: Covenant, “but much worse.”

Alien: Covenant opens in theaters on October 6, 2017 and will be set 10 years after Prometheus.

Oh hell ya! The first 2 Alien movies are my shit! Loved the atmosphere of “Alien”, stuck with some creature and no where to go. If I remember correctly, in the chest bursting scene, no one was told what was going to happen and all the other characters were genuinely terrified. Then there is “Aliens” which brought a bit of horror but also spawned the now stereotypical “Space Marine.” I can’t wait to see what this next movie is about.

Aliens 2 is one of my most favorite movies of all times. Sure it’s not as serious as the first one, I don’t care. This one had the perfect vibe of 80’s flick, B Movie and pure action movie. It really had it all.

I’m really looking forward to Alien:Covenant.

Two things I loved most about Alien - the chest bursting scene, and Sigorney Weaver in skimpy panties.

This. Easily in my top 10 movies of all time, if not within the top 5.
