All Caldera map changes in Warzone Season 4: Storage Town, underground Vaults, better visibility, more

Warzone Season 4 Caldera map changes

Call of Duty revealed the new Caldera map on June 15, stating that there will be “new micro-POIs,” “Secret underground Mercenary Vaults,” and 50% less vegetation for better visibility.

The devs released a blog on June 20 showcasing more details of all these changes coming to Caldera, including a fan-favorite location from Verdansk. You can check out the full Caldera map for Season 4 and the changes coming below.

Storage Town

Players quickly spotted that Verdansk’s Storage Town has now appeared to the southwest of Mines, replacing the ancient ruins that were there before.

The POI remains mostly intact with how players remember it on Verdansk, however there are some changes. For example, “because it is built on the side of a hill, this version of Storage Town offers solid sightlines to adjacent areas, rather than being caught between a massive swimming pool structure and other high ground.”

POI and Environment Updates

The devs have also been hard at work to improve Caldera existing POIs and landscape, reducing the “lush jungles and expansive foliage” for better clarity while playing.

Players will now find various micro-POIs across Caldera, including “small camps cropping up from outside the Resort to the Runway.” Players will be able to find a “new military camp that takes up the open space above the tunnel east of the Summit.”

In the Capital, there is now “scaffolding and bridges” that link the buildings together for more fluid gameplay in the POI. Players will now be able to effortlessly move from one rooftop to another in the Capital, especially around the “busy central district that contains the Fire Station and apartment complexes.”

At Dig Site, the massive skulls and bones have been removed thanks to a “successful excavation,” which means there is now less cover in the POI.

Players can now find a ship in the drydock at Arsenal, which provides an opportunity for more loot and close-quarters combat in the POI.

In Caldera’s hottest drop, Peak, the devs have decided to implement “new staircases and sight alterations” to make it easier to maneuver around the POI.

Further, north of the main Peak building, there will be a new industrial micro-POI which is described as a “great place to stock up on supplies.” This will be a great place to drop for those who are looking to get looted up away from the madness of Peak.

The blog also details the areas across Caldera where the water has dried out due to an “unexpected heatwave.” This includes Village, Docks, and various other places on Caldera where there used to be rivers and other bodies of water.

The devs feel this should improve movement in these areas and also provide opportunities to find more loot.

Caldera Bunker changes

There are also some changes coming to the seven main bunkers on Caldera. In Warzone Pacific Season 4, these main Bunkers are now controlled by mercenaries, and so to access them you need a Key Card.

Players will be able to find these Key Cards in Supply Boxes, Contracts, and even enemy players who have found them during the match. Once picked up, it is bound to the player and can “only be used once on any of the seven bunkers.”

The Bunkers contain “Gold, Weapons, Equipment, and more,” which is perfect for a squad who are hungry to secure a victory.

Might have to fire up CoD again. Shame I didn’t finish the last battlepass to get the goofy skins.
