Battlefield 1 to Receive a Wave of Updates This Summer

This summer is being dubbed the Summer of Battlefield packed with new maps, weapons, and more for Battlefield 1.

Prise de Tahure, the first map, is set in the Autumn after the Nivelle Offensive, a Franco-British offensive on the Western Front that took place 100 years ago this week. This map sets up French troops holding on to an area in the Butte-de-Tahure region, it incorporates a mixture of trench warfare leading up to villages so players can expect intense battles for a foothold at the open areas.

Prise de Tahure will release shortly for PC players via the CTE, unfortunately this means console gamers will have to wait for the time being until more details emerge.

The second map is called Nivelle Nights. Set at the muddy battlezone around Malmaison and Soupir located in northern France alluding it to being tied with the Battle of Aisne, this map is less trench based which makes it seem more of a conquest all over the map.

Nivelle Nights releases in June for Premium Pass owners.

The Eastern Front of World War I is also due to make an appearance in Battlefield 1 with a small teaser for In the “Name of the Tsar” DLC, named after Nicholas II the last Emporer of Russia who reigned during the Great War. More details regarding it will be announced during EA Play scheduled for June 10th.

Last but not least May’s update is right around the corner and appears to focus more on Operations, stating “expect playlists for the mode and easier access to get quickly into the action.”
