Battlefield 4’s upcoming Spring Patch will see the return of the Gun Master game mode, as well as five new weapons, balance tweaks, and updates to netcode and stability on PC. The patch goes live sometime in late May on all platforms. DICE is only hinting at what the five new weapons are. According to the official Battlefield blog, these include a “fan favorite” assault rifle, a bullpup carbine, a silenced PDW, a “sniper” sidearm that fires magnum rounds, and a “run and gun” magazine-fed LMG.
Along with the new weapons comes a complete balance overhaul, which DICE illustrates in the image above. Battlefield 4 players can expect adjustments to weapon damage, falloff, and suppression, as well as increased recoil and 2-hit kill headshots with certain weapons.
The old Gun Master game mode from Battlefield 3 is also making a comeback in the Spring Patch, with five presets that change up the game even more. Standard and Classic presets offer a variety of rifles, machine guns, shotguns, and pistols, while the Pistol preset limits players to handguns only. The straightforward DLC preset introduces special DLC-only weapons, including the Phantom bow, while the Troll preset is a “silly weapon list” that starts players out with ballistic shields and goes “downhill” from there, according to DICE.
