BF: Hardline - Thoughts

So what does everyone think of this game?

Right now I’m amazed it’s working pretty well. No launch issues, are you sure this is a BF title? I got to play a few games last night. I’m having fun but it was a rough night. I need to unlock some shit to get my classes straight. Also still trying to find a proper joystick sensitivity.

The game itself plays fast. Even the rounds very short. I think Blood Money only lasts about 10 minutes.

As for the game modes, we only played a few. Conquest is conquest. I don’t think I’m a fan of Hotwire, maybe it gets better as you unlock more weapons and gadgets. Otherwise it’s just cars driving laps. Not enough shooting for me. It’s fun for a game or two. Like I said, maybe if you unlock mines and other rockets to help take down cars faster it would make the game a little more fun.

Blood money is cool even if we got spanked while playing it. There’s a stack of cash in the middle that both teams fight for. You go, grab cash and take it back to your vault. You need to do a few things in this game. Protect your vault. Grab cash or protect those with cash. Kill enemies and attack their vault. This is a very fast game mode and most rounds last maybe 10 minutes. I really liked this game type.

We didn’t play heists last night but did during the beta. This is similar to blood money except one team is attacking a vault, the other team is defending it. It’s a fun game mode.

We didn’t get a chance to try the other game types. We also ran into some issues finding a server at the end of the night. There was maybe like 4 servers populated, the rest only had ( or was showing) 1 person.

Anyway, what are your thoughts.

Like you said, was surprisingly smooth. Only ran into latency in a few small spots throughout the night.

Only played Conquest, so can’t comment on the other game modes. Definitely had fun after a long hiatus from the BF line of games…can’t even remember what version was the last I played. Going alone into the matches is rough, but once I was able to squad up with a few from GRG it was remarkably fun. Even had a few “WHOA!” moments…

Shot down a chopper on the big city map with a Stinger that was coming down the main drag. It careened into a building and then crashed onto an overpass below. Stood there staring for just long enough for someone high on a building to snipe my ass into oblivion.

Looking forward to getting hooked up with a full squad one of these nights or definitely over the weekend.

Any time I’m online, shoot me an invite. Even if I’m not in HL, I’ll definitely jump on.

I think once people start unlocking the rpgs, launchers and mines. Hotwire is going to become a lot more crazy.

So far the game has been fun. I like the small changes made from BF4 to this. Round time is a winner IMO.
I still only have a few things unlocked, I think the game will get better overtime, but I am sure the asshats will ruin it. ( If you play HC)

During the beta we hat a lot of funbin hotwire using a helicopter or c4.

Blood money was the mode I was surprised wasn’t in the beta. I thought that was the most fun.

I should be able to pick up my copy at some point today

I’ve only played the campaign so far. It’s fun. Feels like playing Far Cry where you have to scan an area to mark targets then you decide you want to go in loud or take your time and search for criminals with warrants to bust them. Can’t say much for the story other than it’s like playing a cop drama. Will wait till I finish the campaign for more.

I’m having a really good time with this game. Sure it’s a BF reskin, so what. The game modes are a blast. Blood Money is my favorite.

If you’re on the fence, buy it. If not, buy it.

Positives: I’ve not enjoyed BF games until this one, and I’m really liking this one. Hotwired is may favorite so far, it can get really nuts, I’m liking blood money, and the mode like dom. I may actually be sticking with this one for a while…

Issues: Both nights, at 1115 Central I’ve been booted out of games, Battlelog went down last night also. Lots of lag and glitches where a dead enemy was frozen in mid air or just standing there.

I played as the hacker last night for about 2 hours, just because I had no idea what it was. It’s pretty much a one man radar ping, activate traps and cameras, and buff a squad or two. It was fun, racking about 1-2k points depending on how long the game goes. Not having any hackers is okay, but facing an enemy team with one, would be fighting an uphill battle. At the end of the night I had a good idea about what typically is going on during the matches. Primarily, people center on one area and go back and forth till someone breaks away or someone holds down a chokepoint and eats up their tickets. If you start seeing cameras with red lights I believe that is an enemy hacker, shoot the camera or gas canister and it will be disabled for about 30 secs.

I like the Battlefield series, and while this is different in places, it definitely feels like Battlefield for the most part.

It does play a little faster than BF4, however. Not as fast (or twitchy, really) as COD has become, but faster. They released it at the right time as well, no major shooters that I can think of coming until fall, so there will be plenty of time to put in on this one before Halo 5 or Battlefront hit.

After playing the alpha and beta and thinking meh, What sold me on this game was watching people play it on Twitch and see how much fun they were having. After only a couple of hours playing i do not regret the purchase yet, lets see if this game will last though

Of you don’t take it seriously it’s fun

Just to repeat myself, I am really enjoying this game. It’s a combo of being a scaled down BF and the new game types. It really is a BF mixed with CoD. You really should give this a try if you’re a CoD player and looking for something different. I think you’ll really enjoy it once you get used to the gameplay. The action is fast the game modes are quick.

Besides, wtf else is out there?

The new game modes make this game, both blood money and hardwire are great game types

I haven’t played Hardwire yet, but I love Blood Money mode.

EDIT: I need to clarify…I haven’t played Hardwire since the beta. In the beta, it was alright, as long as I wasn’t driving.
