Blackout may return in Call of Duty 2020

According to a new tweet from Jeff Grubb, reporter at VentureBeat who has accurately leaked information on the gaming industry in the past, Blackout from Black Ops 4 might return in the 2020 Call of Duty game.

It’s not clear how it’ll return, but Grubb claims that it may return in ‘some form’ in this year’s game.

Blackout was the first ever Call of Duty Battle Royale mode, released in October 2018 by Treyarch. The mode brought 100 players, combining the Black Ops universe together in a massive battle Royale mode.

It’s not clear why Activision would bring back Blackout as it’s own thing for the game versus just updated Warzone. They could be potentially incorporating somethings from Blackout into Warzone to continue the Warzone world as one in the future.

We still don’t have official details on the 2020 Call of Duty game, other than it’s reported to be called ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.’
