Bungies removes High End content from Non-DLC Destiny 2 Players

So Bungie’s new DLC for Destiny 2 is becoming the focus of attention with the restrictions it places on once available activities. Seems like more game scamming for more money maybe, but what about when the same thing happened with the first Destiny…Why is this such a big deal now? Has anybody @DestinyPlayers been affected by this? Whats your thoughts?

Below are various game info sites with their articles covering the subject.

They did that in D1 as well. This is also typical for a lot of mmos.
Content will be locked for you unless you pay.

I don’t see it as a huge deal.

These are the activities you would have lost access to:

  • Prestige Nightfall
  • Prestige Raid
  • Trials of the Nine

I figure most people who play those activities would have bought the DLC anyway.
Kind of sucks what they did, same as the trophy now being inaccessible on PS4, but I don’t think many are actually affected.

However, I’m pretty sure they didn’t increase the LL requirements for any of these in D1.
Sometimes the NF or Crucible/ToO map was rotated onto a map behind the DLC but whenever it wasn’t you still could play it (as far as I know anyway).

Raids weren’t ever LL boosted, so you could always play the ones you already had access to regardless of which DLCs came out after.

Bungie have already addressed the trophy issue in their TWAB today.

Trophies and Achievements
We are aware that there are some Destiny 2 trophies and achievements that have become unavailable to players who have not purchased Curse of Osiris. We are committed to fixing this issue, and are currently investigating a solution. Please stay tuned for more updates on this topic as progress is made.
