Call of Duty: Warzone's game-breaking FR 5.56 FAMAS exploit is being fixed

I didn’t even know about this one…

The FR 5.56 (or FAMAS) assault rifle in Call of Duty: Warzone is currently broken, and players are using an exploit to gain a big advantage over other opponents in the battle royale.

In a Season 5 patch, Infinity Ward buffed the FR 5.56 rifle by extending the weapon’s effective damage range. Unfortunately, the patch also boosted the gun’s underbarrel shotgun attachment. The single-shot shotgun is so powerful that it can down a player with full armour from distances of around 15 metres. Players have now found out about the exploit and are now running rampant in the game.

Thankfully, Infinity Ward has now confirmed on Twitter that it’s identified an issue with FR 5.56 (although it doesn’t address the shotgun problem directly) and will be sharing more details soon, “We’ve identified the issue with the FR 5.56 and are currently working on a fix.”

Infinity Ward released an update for Warzone over the weekend that fixed another game-breaking glitch that allowed players to hide behind a bizarre graphical black box oddity. The update was pushed to all platforms, and Xbox One players seemingly got the short end of the straw. For PS4 and PC players, the patch was around 2GB. Xbox One players had to download a 66GB leviathan thanks to an issue with Microsoft’s patch delivery process.

I saw one of these last night. Not in use but on the ground, when we cut through Storage Town. Player FAMAs kitted out with what I thought was a grenade launcher but apparently was the shotgun.
