Cyberpunk 2077 delay rumours refuted by CD Projekt Red

Don’t worry, Cyberpunk fans, that new December 10th release date for Cyberpunk 2077 seems to be pretty solid. Developer CD Projekt Red has responded to rumours that the game will be delayed yet again, and has reconfirmed that we’ll see the game next month.

Speaking to IGN, a CDPR representative said, “as a rule, we don’t comment on rumours or speculation… But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”

Rumours had begun to float around that CDPR had plans to delay Cyberpunk 2077 again. It’s already been delayed three times: once at the start of 2020, when it was pushed from April to September, again in June, when it was delayed from September to November, and again just last month, when it was pushed back by 21 days to December 10th. Marcin Momot, global community lead at CDPR, also (briefly) responded to these rumours on Twitter. One fan had tweeted to tell other players to “expect a delay,” saying that the game’s Twitter account had been inactive and that the December 10th date wasn’t in their bio, to which Momot responded with a picture of the header image of the Cyberpunk 2077 account which clearly shows the new release date.

I’d believe CD Projekt Red since they’ve always been upfront about any delays. Now of course a delay could happen again but it seems they are finally ready to go.
