“Our intention was to keep slower-paced activities as rewarding as high intensity grinding without confusing variations in displayed XP values, but the silent nature of the mechanic betrayed the expectation of transparency that you have for Destiny 2,”
I just can’t believe they expected to sell XP Boosts. Getting to 20 was effortless even with an XP slowdown.
Besides, I thought it automatically took you to 20 when you finished the Campaign.
yeah i never really understood that. but i think this is people trying to keep the bar going to farm the bright engrams.
It does.
When you speak to Zavala after completing the last mission (and the resulting cutscene), it boosts you to Lv20.
That’s what I thought.
So what’s the point of XP or XP boosts at all? I guess that’s where I’m confused. The campaign is about 6 some hours and easy to finish.
Like Grex said.
Post Lv20 - XP is about earning Bright Engrams - which leads to cosmetic loot.
If you don’t want to XP grind for your cosmetic stuff, you have to go buy it.
I guess I overlooked that. I hold no value in the bright engrams. That stuff doesn’t interest me in the slightest.
I concur. Bright Egrams hold no value and do not make the game any better in my opinion. I hated when Bungie announced eververse. Such a waste of developer resources.
Did i miss read something or was it just the public events that recieved the nerf? Are people just upset that PE weren’t the most efficient way to farm xp?
The amount of XP displayed on screen that you had “earned” was not the same amount that you had actually gained.
A couple of redditors figured this out and posted evidence to support.
Days later Bungie announced they had made a change effective immediately.
Not sure it’s entirely sorted yet and it does now seem like the amounts you gain have been modified by that recent change.
It only affects your cosmetic item gains post level 20 though.
Until the next DLC anyway.
Oh, i knew about the other stuff, didn’t realize it was actually displaying the wrong numbers, that makes a little more sense
I think they are also upset that you could buy XP boost under the assumption that you were getting 50% XP boost on the base value. Not knowing that base value changes due to throttling. So if you bought a XP boost and then went and just did PE then you were in fact fucking yourself and ruining the value of your XP boost you just purchased with real money.
Very good point, that had completely escaped me.
Same for well-rested buff and the ghost perks I guess.
