Major Nelson breaks the news that Discord and Xbox are collaborating.
In response to your feedback, you will now have the option to link your Discord account to your Xbox account, making it easier than ever to see what your friends are playing. If you are playing Sea of Thieves on your Xbox, you can now choose to give your Discord friends the ability to see that and decide whether they want to hop on their Xbox and join you.
Hopefully this leads to Discord chat integration.

This should make @anon3687162 happy. Now he won’t manually have to add what he is playing in Discord.
I still will when the title says playing “the stuff in his pants”
that’s just a simple tiny little game
Hey…nothing wrong with a pick up and play game now and then.
Discord had this as one of their long term goals, I’m surprised it’s actually happening. Especially since MS is expanding XBox parties.
Really surprised MS just didn’t buy Discord. They’re probably asking for a shit ton of money.
I’m not convinced they won’t eventually buy Discord. This is how it starts for MS typically. First, some integration. Next, they buy the product and bring it in house.
Maybe by integrating first they get an idea for how good/shit the API and codebase are?
Do you think discord has less latency than Xbox chat?
Unfortunately, this new partnership doesn’t grant players’ biggest wish: being able to voice chat over Discord with friends on other platforms, but the new integration between Microsoft and Discord could perhaps be the first step in Xbox One getting a full Discord app in the future.
Ok…so not really what we have been wanting but a step in that direction…got it
