Everyone has a single player game they replay every now and then. So which is it?

it’s no secret for me that my game is Bioshock. I don’t know how they did it but every single time I play this game I get chills. It’s one of those games that tells its story through the world, not exposition dumps and cutscenes. To me, the gameplay never aged, and taking down splicers with headshots and calculated plasmids never gets old. The progression makes you feel like you’re becoming incredibly strong. and I don’t have any complaints!

Ok, the hacking can get old, research sucks, and I’m not a huge fan of the little sister escort level.

But, remember fort frolic? Fuckin A, man. Great game. I have a feeling I’ll treat doom eternal the same way, fuck I love that game. definitely GOTY for me.

so which games are best to revisit with a beer to relive your glory gaming years? Notable runners up include SSX 3, Psychonauts, Hydro Thunder (OG and XBLA), and the og crash trilogy.

Hard question for sure, I can agree with you that Bioshock is a damned masterpiece for sure. I’ve enjoyed many single player games though and don’t think I could narrow it down to just one. I loved skyrim bugs and all, subnautica in its simple but enjoyable atmosphere, and of course the first Halo

For me it’s Fallout 3. I never played it at release and picked it off the bargain shelf at Wal-Mart for 19.99 as a “Well this looks kinda cool” impulse purchase. Little did I know that game would consume me and ultimately turn me into a Vault Boy fan boy. I still go back to it occasionally just for that nostalgic feeling that made me a fan in the first place.

My close second would be Skyrim. That game pulled me away from the clutches of COD for many many months.

i always loved what it was going for but ultimately it was too grey and I’d never been introduced to an RPG like that before. After the vault I felt so lost and I never played it again. I always wished i could get into the RPGs everyone talks about like witcher 3 and shit but i just can’t.

Yeah RPGs are one of those genres that you absolutely love or you hate especially from the true fantasy/sci-fi realm. And crap not sure how I forgot about Witcher 3.

The Wipeout Series.

For me it’s the Resident Evil and the Assassin’s Creed Series’. I’ll always be willing to load one up and play for a bit.
