Halo Infinite will be getting the classic Forge mode that many fans of the franchise know and love, here’s everything we know.
Halo Infinite has been out for some time now, giving players more than enough time to sink their teeth into what the latest instalment of the FPS franchise has to offer.
While some have complained about the matchmaking on Ranked Play, the general consensus has been very positive for both the Campaign and Multiplayer modes. The only thing fans will insist is missing from Halo Infinite, apart from a co-op option for the story mode, is the highly community-orientated Forge mode.
Luckily, we have details on its release for Halo Infinite.
Halo’s Forge mode brings customization and the community even closer together as it lets users create their own maps, modes, and more.
In the past, Forge has been one of the franchise’s most popular modes, and the fact that it wasn’t present for Halo infinite upon launch would definitely have been disappointing for those who loved the content generation engine.
The freedom and options you have in this mode are truly incredible, allowing the community to explore their more creative side while playing Halo. Whether you want to have some fun messing around in someone’s creation or create something yourself, Forge offers players new ways to play the game.
Halo Infinite Forge release date
At the time of writing this article, there is currently no official release date for the mode. Having said that, Head of Creative at 343 Industries Joseph Staten did state during an interview that the plan is for Forge to arrive in Halo Infinite for “Season 3.”
However, according to the 343 employee, this is a target and the devs “can’t commit to any hard dates right now,” as “other things might move up in the priority stack.”
As we are currently in Season 1, players may have to wait around six months until Forge is actually added into the game.
The date for Season 2’s release hasn’t been finalised either, so as soon as we have an idea for when Forge and Season 3 will launch, we will update this piece with that information as well as other details for the mode.
Halo Infinite Forge leaks
There have also been many leaks showing off forgeable items for the mode and gameplay. These leaks are supposedly all legitimate and confirmed to be from Halo Infinite’s unreleased Forge mode.
The images and videos from this mode were compiled in a Reddit post and show off a variety of aspects of the Forge mode from gameplay of a user-created map to a recreation of a Gingerbread House in the mode.
One of the videos linked in the Reddit post even shows the UI for user creation tools while in the Forge mode, giving players an idea of what it will look like when creating their own content in the sandbox mode.
The tools and scripting nodes used by this leaked Halo Infinite Forge mode are said to be “similar to tools that Unreal Engine uses,” meaning it could be pretty advanced.
