Fortnite Prepares For Valentine's Day With Latest Patch

Valentine’s Day is just round the corner and it seems Epic is getting into the spirit with the next patch, V2.4.2, for Fortnite, as they’ve brought some swanky new stuff for both Battle Royale and Save The World players. Battle Royale players will receive more material goods with a couple of Valentine-themed skins and Cupid’s crossbow, whereas for Save The World players, it’s more about the experience with a special Valentine’s quest line that shows a love story in the Fortnite way.

Besides these additions, the patch notes are fairly light, but there’s still some changes and fixes in store for both of Fortnite’s modes that you can read in full below.

BATTLE ROYALE
GENERAL

  • The Shooting Test #1 Limited-Time Mode has been switched to Solo only.
    • Known Issue: The Shooting Test does not save progression for stats or challenges.
    • Shotgun headshot damage increased to 200% (was 150%).
    • Scoped Assault Rifle is now 100% accurate when zoomed in.
    • Scoped Assault Rifle no longer has damage fall-off.

Bug Fixes

  • Players will no longer slide off rooftops.
  • Fix for Item Shop panels disappearing after completing a V-buck purchase through the Store Tab.
  • Fix for collision inconsistencies in certain basement corners.
  • Fixed a hole in the terrain south of Retail Row.

AUDIO

_Removed harsh high-frequency sound from the Chomp Jr pickaxe._

WEAPONS

  • Crossbow
    • This weapon fires Arrows, which are an unlimited ammo type.
    • Found from floor loot and treasure chests.
    • This weapon comes in both Rare and Epic variants.

SAVE THE WORLD

Fortnite’s V2.4.2 patch, and subsequently the Valentine’s event, is set to roll out today, February 8th. In the spirit of the event, hopefully the players love it.

IDK. I installed it, but it looks so cartoonish. I may try it out if there are a couple to show me around.
