Forza Horizon 5 Info

Microsoft unveiled Forza Horizon 5 last night during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. Now, Playground Games has detailed the two performance modes on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.

Over on the Forza support website, Playground Games says, 2Xbox Series X|S enabled us to provide players the most technologically advanced Forza Horizon experience yet. The power of the Xbox Series consoles has enabled us to deliver incredible realism and immersion with a world rendered in higher detail and with extreme draw distances."

On Xbox Series X, Forza Horizon 5 will run at 4K 30fps and 1080p 30fps on Xbox Series S. There is also an optional 60fps performance mode on both consoles (resolutions haven’t been specified) and ray tracing in the Forzavista vehicle viewing mode to “make the cars look even more true to real life.” No performance details have been given for the game running on Xbox One.

Forza Horizon 5 is set in Mexico and, according to Playground Games, has the “largest, most diverse open world ever.”

Forza Horizon 5 has screeched onto the Microsoft Store already, and two Premium editions — a complete bundle, as well as an upgrade for Game Pass players — will let buyers tear up Mexico four days early.

For racing fans who aren’t on Game Pass, early access is only available via the Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 5. It’ll set you back a not-insignificant $99.99/£84.99/€99.99, but you do at least get a lot of bang for your buck — as well as early access, this version includes the full game, the Welcome Pack (including five pre-tuned cars, a house, three clothing vouchers, and a coupon redeemable for any car from the Autoshow), the Car Pass for 50 additional vehicles, and two full expansions (each set to add “a new world location, vehicles, and gameplay”), as well as VIP Membership for tons of additional goodies.

If you’re a Game Pass subscriber but you still want to play early or grab all of those sweet extras, then the Premium Add-Ons Bundle will be the one for you. At a more affordable $49.99/£39.99/€49.99, Game Pass members can enjoy all of the above benefits and extras by upgrading the version playable with Game Pass to the Premium version. In addition, this bundle is currently 10% off on the store, making it the most affordable way to secure the complete Horizon 5 experience.

Based on the scope and scale of previous Horizon expansions, it’s safe to assume that the two included with the Premium editions will add a ton of content to the game. FH5 is already being billed as the series’ “largest, most diverse open world ever,” so expect this to be a huge slab of racing goodness.

Forza Horizon 5 launches into Game Pass on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 on November 9th, with Premium edition owners able to hit the road four days early, on November 5th.

Mike Brown, creative director at Playground Games, has revealed that Forza Horizon 5 will run at 4K 60fps in performance mode on Xbox Series X and 1080p 60fps on Xbox Series S. With the game running at 4K in both modes on Series X, it’s currently unclear what visuals will be downgraded or even given up entirely to hit the buttery smooth 60fps mark in performance mode.
