Just saw it with the girlfriend. Great movie. Really starting to ride the fine line of cheesy. Set pieces were terrific. i Especially like the Air drop sequence. I thought Jason Statham was a great villain. I would like to see him play the villain more often.
The final scene is a type of Farewell to Paul Walker. Was actually pretty emotional.
as for the whole CGI paul walker. I honestly didnt notice. I’m prety sure there was a scene in a parking garage that was CGI, since it was dark and felt a little outta place. Also obviously the final scene was a stand in. The camera was pulled back pretty far.
All in all it’s not the best of the series but it was a great ride.
As long as it’s entertaining i’ll keep watching. New characters, new story arches, I like it. they aren’t even racing movies anymore… it’s more like another version of the Expendables.
My family enjoys the series. I doubt I’ll take them to the movies to see it but we will watch it once it’s on VoD. Even though the previous one was sillier than all hell (worlds longest airstrip, Vin Diesel using a moving car to break his fall).
Going with the boy this weekend to see it. I didn’t like the 2nd one, but I’ve enjoyed the rest of them. They seem to get better each time. However, without seeing this one mind you, I can’t see them going to 8 without Walker, but that’s the rumour.
ah they could easily do it without him. we were talking about it lastnight. simply have his wife Mia answer the phone or something with a blurry version of him in the background playing with the kids. tah dah!!! They wrote him off in the movie. saying that now he has kids he won’t be involved with the danger the team keeps getting into. and they kinda hinted at that during Fast 6. So it makes sense in the universe they’ve created.
