GameStop Will Be Launching 48-hour Money-back Guarantee On Game Sales

Cheap Ass Gamer has tweeted an interesting document revealing that Retailer GameStop will be launching a new program in which gamers will have the opportunity to return a brand new game and get all of their money back but in the form of Trade-in Credit. The program, dubbed “Guaranteed to Love it”, allows gamers 48 hours to return the newly purchased title within the same 48 hours of the game’s launch. The first title to try out this new program will be Days Gone on the PlayStation 4.

News: GameStop to Launch “Guaranteed to Love it” program. If you return the game within 48 hours of the game’s launch you get your money back in the form of Trade-in Credit. First game is Days Gone. If you hate it, bring it back with 48 hours and get $59.99 in trade-in credit.

If you’re “Guaranteed to Love it” then hopefully there won’t be any games being returned under this program, but at least you’ll be able to get the full value of the game back if you happen to hate it.

The eligible dates for this new program at GameStop will be between April 25th and April 28th.

Nice! After a failure like Anthem, this is needed.

I read that as:

Gamestop will be launching all sorts of Customer Service Initiatives as their business model collapses and they can’t rape the consumer.

No, I’m not bitter.

And guaranteed to love would mean my money back not a fuckin in store credit!

I don’t know…48 hours isn’t likely enough time for most turds to really start showing their colors. If it was a week, then they’d be onto something. As it stands, between the short timeframe and the idea you only get credit, I’m not tempted.

Week is to long. People will abuse that.

A week def wouldn’t be good. Most sp games could be beat in a matter of days if you really wanted to put the effort in and then just returned which would get abused like @SoulTerror mentioned. I dont mind the in store credit option as you were in to spend anyway and they are protecting the purchase. Other games or merch would be fine imo.

Just don’t shop at lamestop… Pretty easy there
