Horde DLC to Release May 26

All-new DLC content for Dying Light has been announced by developer Techland.Called The Bozak Horde, the DLC puts players into the Harran Stadium to participate in a series of challenges put on them by a maniacal man named Bozak.The DLC is designed specifically with cooperative play in mind for up to four people and features a new location and a compound hunting bow. It will release on May 26 for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 for $10 USD / 10 EUR / 7 GBP.

GTA Online Gets 10 New Rockstar Verified Jobs, Including Grave Robbery Job

Rockstar just officially verified ten more user-created GTA Online missions, which are available now on all platforms.

The line-up of new Rockstar Verified Jobs includes a race set on a ramp-filled bridge, a grave robbery job that involves stealing a casket from a mourning mob family, and a deathmatch set on the Arcadius skyscraper in downtown Los Santos. You can find a full, detailed list of each job and its Social Club author on the Rockstar Newswire. In addition to the 10 free jobs available on all platforms, there are also three bonus races exclusive to Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Konami Focusing on Mobile Games

Konami's future lies in mobile game development, according to the company's new CEO, Hideki Hayakawa."We will pursue mobile games aggressively," Hayakawa told Nikkei Trendy Net (via NeoGAF). "Our main platform will be mobiles. Following the pay-as-you-play model of games like Power pro and Winning Eleven with additional content, our games must move from selling things like 'items' to selling things like 'features.'"We saw with these games that even people who buy physical games are motivated to buy extra content," he continued. "The success of Power pro especially has motivated us to actively push more of our popular series onto mobile than ever before."

As such, it looks like Konami’s presence in the console space will continue to shrink, which shouldn’t be all too surprising, especially in light of the recent cancellation of Silent Hills and Hideo Kojima’s reported departure from the company.

“Gaming has spread to a number of platforms, but at the end of the day, the platform that is always closest to us, is mobile. Mobile is where the future of gaming lies,” Hayakawa added. “We hope that our overseas games such as MGSV and Winning Eleven continue to do well, but we are always thinking about how to push our franchises onto mobile there too.”

Rainbow Six Siege Release Date and Special Editions Announced

Ubisoft has announced Rainbow Six Siege will be available worldwide on October 13.The upcoming shooter will be available in several editions. Currently, these have only been confirmed for Europe, the Middle-East and Asia (EMEA), with American special editions to be announced at a later date.Firstly, the Art of Siege edition comes with the game, a collector’s box, a Gold Skins Pack for all in-game weapons and a 120-page Tactical Guide detailing Counter Terrorist Units, Operators, weapons, and maps. A Season Pass is not included.

The Gold Edition, meanwhile, is the Standard Edition of the game along with a Season Pass. Finally, the Uplay Shop will exclusively stock the Tactical Elite Edition, which brings together the Art of Siege edition with a Season Pass.

Anyone pre-ordering the game will also gain access to a Closed Beta set to kick off later this year, while those who pre-order via Uplay will get this as well as a numbered steel book when the game is released.

Ratchet & Clank PS4 Re-Imagining Delayed to 2016

Insomniac Games has confirmed its re-imagining of the original Ratchet & Clank title for PS4 has been delayed to Spring 2016 to coincide with the release of the upcoming movie.The news comes courtesy of a post by the studio's chief brand officer Ryan Schneider, though he does make it sound very much like the vision for the game is no longer a simple remastering, but instead something much more expansive."Insomniac Games is also hard at work at Ratchet & Clank for the PS4, a re-imagination of the original game that started it all 13 years ago," he writes. "The game, out Spring 2016, re-tells the origin story that ties in closely and expands upon the movie’s narrative.

"It also features several new levels along with reimagined classic locales like Metropolis, brand new weapons and completely redone visuals made possible by the power of the PlayStation 4.

“While you might have to wait a bit longer than expected, rest assured we’re using the time wisely to further polish the game to a spit-shine level, with dazzling shader response, awe-inspiring effects, velvety smooth animations, and spectacular new gameplay segments.”

Gears of War Remaster for Xbox One Footage Surfaces Online

Footage from the rumoured remaster of the original Gears of War for Xbox One has leaked online.Originally cropping up on XboxDVR - a site that collates clips recorded using the Xbox One's built-in software - these swiftly disappeared, but not before they were snapped up and posted elsewhere.

Though it’s yet to be confirmed, the evidence for a remaster is becoming more compelling by the day, especially when you throw in the Brazilian ratings board recently adding something called “Gears of War: Ultimate Edition” to their listings. Earlier this year, Black Tusk Studios boss Rod Fergusson denied reports of a Marcus Fenix Collection for Xbox One. He did, however, tease that several other projects set in the Gears universe are currently in the works.

At this stage it seems almost guaranteed the remaster is real, and we’ll likely hear more about it, as well the series’ next proper entry, from Microsoft at its E3 media briefing in June.

New Russian Armored Vehicle is Controlled Using a PlayStation Gamepad

The new Russian infantry fighting vehicle, the Kurganets-25 IFV, is controlled using a device based on a PlayStation DualShock controller, according Russian government-owned outlet, Sputnik International.

"I spent two years on convincing the designers to make the console similar to a Sony Playstation gamepad, to make it easier for a young soldier to familiarize himself with it," Tractor Plants vice-president Albert Bakov told Russian media.

Basing the device off Sony’s gamepad allowed them to tap into a proven design that has been tweaked over decades, according to Bakov. It is not clear if the design is based off the DualShock 3 or the newer DualShock 4 controller. A game controller also takes up less space in the cockpit and is safer for crewmen compared to a steering wheel. "As it turns out, a steering wheel is dangerous for the rib cage during an impact and when climbing out. It takes up more space but provides nothing," Bakov added.

The Kurganets-25 is a tracked, 25-ton tank that features a 2A42 30 mm autocannon, four Kornet-EM anti-tank guided missile launchers and upgradeable modular armor. The Kurganets-25 IFV and APC variants were first shown off to the public during 2015 Moscow Victory Day Parade rehearsals and are slated to enter mass production next year.

Magma Red DualShock 4 Gets Summer Release in US

Sony Computer Entertainment has just announced that those in the United States will be able to purchase a Magma Red DualShock 4 controller sometime this summer.The PlayStation manufacturer confirmed the mid-year release window in a post on Twitter.Sony's PlayStation 4 control pad is currently available in Jet Black, Glacier White, Urban Camouflage, and Wave Blue. Meanwhile, Japanese gamers have had the Magma Red option for quite some time, leaving gamers stateside waiting enviously with bated breath.
