I think you just have to get past the initial story missions. Once you get to where you can free roam in the offline portion, you can choose GTA Online play instead of offline.
If you put an hour into it then you should be fine. You just need to get past the Prologue. When GTA is loading (takes 5 days), there should be an option to hit X for online. From there you have create your online character. You can skip the tutorial, but you may just want to do it to get a refresher on how to play.

Shitty night for GTA Online. I couldnāt get shit done. Iām not sure if you can use Ammo-nation while in a mission. Everytime I did, I got disconnected from the mission. Then I couldnāt solo the other missions. I guess they ramp up the difficulty at level 15.
Damn meeting I was in lasted over 3 hours, then I had to get my kid from school when he was done working stats for the Varsity hoops team after his JV game. Not gonna lieā¦canāt wait until a couple of weeks from now when the hoops season is done.
I was playing through a level of Halo 2 Anniversary Campaign. By the time I finished it was a bit late so I didnāt bother jumping into GTA. Maybe later this week. Canāt play tonight.
