Survival shooter H1Z1 will be free to play once maintenance is finished today at 10 a.m. Pacific, with a refund available if you recently bought the title on Steam.
The move to free-to-play goes hand in hand with the title’s announcement of the inauguration of the H1Z1 Pro League featuring 15 Esports teams.
H1Z1 players who got the game in Early Access are getting an Appreciation Pack complete with: a gasrunner hoodie, bloom survivor T-shirt, splinter camo ARV, 10 victory crates, and 10,000 skulls.
Is this them trying to be competitive with Fortnite BR?
Or have they just given up?
Definitely not giving up they just started a new pro league.
The game is super twitchy will be interesting to see how it runs with a controller. People using XIM with KB & M will dominate.

It was really fun and the gunplay was actually way better than I expected. Very fast paced matches which only adds to the pressure. For the first day there of course were match making issues but once in a match it was rather smooth.
While waiting for others I did win my very first match
Good times with @lolo_0420 @anon36214017 @TwistedGunsmith @forch124 tho and the 5 man groups are more fun!

very nice! I had figured out the whole loading/queuing issues and have just gotten to the point where closing and relaunching is best. The game starts up pretty fast so rather than praying things go right in the same amount of time this is a great workaround.
Also good to know about the vehicles. I actually got ran over last night and according to the read it was because i was standing still lol and hear I thought they just patched it. I’m sure they will fix that or maybe they won’t to keep people from just trying to take people out with a vehicle.
