A new leak for Halo Infinite claims that players will have plenty of new arenas to compete in, with five multiplayer maps allegedly on the way.
Halo Infinite’s multiplayer dropped to widespread acclaim back in November 2021, with 10 maps included for players to battle on.
While the majority of Infinite’s maps are fun, players have still been asking for more to be added. Specifically looking for classic multiplayer maps to make a return to the game, although 343 have already stated they won’t be adding exact replicas of previous arenas.
Unfortunately, a new leak from January 14 doesn’t include any fan favorites from yesteryear but does claim that five new maps are on the way in the not too distant future.
In a tweet on January 13, ‘leaks_infinite‘ shared in-progress pictures of five new maps, along with their names. According to the leaker, Cataract, Forbidden, Beltway, Solitude, and Bath Salts are headed to the game, although some think the latter is actually called Basalts.
The images show the maps in early development, which means they don’t look like anything you would expect to see in the game.
Using existing in-game assets to give a general idea of shape and layout, we can catch our first glimpse at upcoming Halo Infinite maps.
According to one Twitter user, these images show the maps in the “blockout phase,” which is when devs create a basic layout of the map using low-poly assets. The maps certainly look interesting, with one featuring train tracks, and another inside what looks like caves.
Of course, just because these images have been found, that doesn’t mean we’ll definitely see them in the game. Developers often add assets that never see the light of day, so just keep that in mind.
