the only difference that I can tell between the two from descriptions are:
the RL2455 has HDMI(x2) and 1ms GTG, the GL2460 has HDMI(x1) and 2ms GTG. Both are TN screens
I am really not knowledgeable about screen types from what I’ve read TN is good for FPS but not good with color, IPS is good with color but has higher input lag, and VA are the first two letters of Vagina LOL
I just got the BenQ GL2460HM about 3 weeks ago. Looking at it straight on, it rocks. In that aspect it is better than my LG IPS 27". Colors are fantastic.
It’s down fall is if you want to look at it from and angle. My IPS I can still see looking at it straight from the side, the BenQ is not watchable from any angle really.
If you are just gonna play games on it then it is a great buy as you won’t be looking at it from an angle.
I just got around to looking at this. at <$200, both monitors would work well. I do look at response times, but what I also look at is color depth and contrast ratios. the higher the ratio the better, but since it’s a gaming LCD and not very big, it really doesn’t matter much. go with whichever looks better, IMO.
I appreciate all the advice. What kills me is that I don’t get to see what these monitors perform like in real life(other than youtube) as i am ordering solely on the internet. I just don’t want to make the wrong decision as i can’t just take it back to the store.
Would this be a better fit for overall console gaming(FPS and NON-FPS) than the BenQ?
Seems that the BenQ has more features but I’m not completely familiar with monitors.
