A rumor from leaker ModernWarzone has indicated that Firing Range and Jungle are returning in Black Ops Cold War as part of an upcoming CoD update.
Despite a slow start in terms of content for Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch has done a good job in bulking the game up with new maps and modes. Whether new or remakes, more 6v6 maps are always welcome for the traditional fans who perhaps prefer smaller, grounded combat instead of larger variations such as Fireteam.
We’ve already seen the likes of Raid and Express remade for a more modern audience, and it seems like Treyarch isn’t stopping there.
Renowned datamining Twitter page ModernWarzone has posted new information pertaining to the existence of more Black Ops map remakes.
In a short and concise Tweet, the page simply posted two different images that lots of Call of Duty fans would recognize in a heartbeat and a cheeky wink face.
The first is quite clearly the loading screen image for Firing Range, a classic map first welcomed in CoD: Black Ops 2. It’s a medium-sized map with its theme based around a military training area with mock-up combat scenarios.
On the other hand, we also have an image of the Jungle screen. Set in a sprawling forest, Jungle had lots of connecting paths and hidden spots that made it a tricky customer to negotiate and truly conquer – adding to the challenge.
Both maps have been remastered previously, and it will be no surprise to see them return in Black Ops Cold War at some point in the future.
If the rumor does turn out to be true, then it’s likely we see either one, both, or neither of them during the mid-season update. Or we may have to wait until Season 3 drops to play them once more.
