Immortals Fenyx Rising gets its first DLC "A New God" in just a few days

If you’ve been wanting more of the excellent Immortals Fenyx Rising, good news: the game’s first DLC arrives in just a few days on January 28th. A New God has Fenyx undertaking the Trials of the Olympians in an effort to earn a place in Olympus Palace and in the Greek pantheon.

We’ll get to explore Olympus Palace and have a go at the new trials and new gameplay mechanics, with Fenyx also unlocking four new ability upgrades, as well as a new gear set, which Ubisoft says has “fantastic perks fit for a god such as letting you perform additional jumps.”

It looks as though this could be the last piece of game content where we’ll play as Fenyx, as the game’s next two pieces of DLC introduce new characters. Myths of the Eastern Realms has you playing as a new hero, Ku, in an entirely new land and with a new story based around Chinese mythology. Humanity has been turned into clay after a war between Heaven and Earth — Ku was the only one to escape this fate, and has to face off against new gods and monsters, helped by the Goddess Nuwa and the Phoenix.

The third piece of DLC, The Lost Gods, brings not only a new character but also a new style of gameplay. You’ll be playing as a mortal hero, Ash, trying out a brawler style of combat, and playing with a top-down isometric view. In this DLC, several of the Olympian gods have abandoned their homes, causing chaos to break out across the world. Fenyx, the God of Unity, recruits Ash to help retrieve the gods. Ash heads to the Pyrite Islands in search of Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Demeter, and Boreas.

You can grab these expansions either individually or all together as part of the Season Pass, which is priced at $39.99/£32.99 and which also unlocks access to the bonus quest, When the Road Gets Rocky.

Don’t forget, you’ve also still got a few days to complete the free limited-time Immortals Fenyx Rising/Blood of Zeus crossover quest, which ends on January 28th — the same day A New God is released.
