Loved reading Iron Fist / Luke Cage comics as a kid. Can’t wait for this one.
This is a pretty cool dragon.

Yeah, can’t wait to see this and Luke Cage, but the Luke Cage trailer was the best.
March 17th ?!?
Come on!
Not looking good. Polygon just shit all over it.
I thought the broke the winning streak with Luke Cage. That series outright sucked.
Lame
This show is being panned by almost everyone. The really bad part…almost all are saying they couldn’t bring themselves to watch the whole series because they couldn’t give two shits about what happens next.
That sucks as I was really looking forward to this one. Maybe Netflix needs to rethink Superhero shows, the last 2 bombed.
Just the last 2? The first season of Daredevil was good because Drew Goddard started out as the show runner and had most of the first season already storyboarded and ready. He left due to a scheduling conflict, but he created really good bones for that show.
Let’s be honest…the second season was kind of lame.
Jessica Jones was also pretty good, but you can already see the drop in quality from Daredevil. JJ did well because it was more a psychological drama than an actual superhero show.
Luke Cage actually started off pretty well, but totally fell apart after Cottonmouth was defeated. The first season tried to do too much, and turned out to be more of an origin story for Mariah Dillard than Luke.
Iron Fist is being run by Scott Buck, the man who destroyed Dexter, and was the writer of a bunch of shows’ final seasons. He’s pretty much poison for any visual medium.
I can agree with this.
I really liked this a lot but I’m afraid it was because of David Tennant. Weird side thing, did Jessica Jones kind of look a bit like Michael Jackosn?
I was also thinking they need to either go all in on superheros or just stop. This one off hero shit needs to end. Fully embrace the Marvel Universe ( or DC Universe for their shit).
I understand this is impossible with licensing rights, which is sad because I think it hurts all the movies and shows.
It’s a turd but I’m here to promote it!
Reviews are killing this show. I think I’m going to pass. Can’t suffer through another shitty season of Netflix Superheros. Luke Cage was bad enough.
I started watching the other day. It’s ok. Some of the acting and martial arts are fairly bad, but it’s not as bad as what the reviews are saying. I’m only a few episodes in and they’ve gotten thru a little bit of the back story and who the antagonist is looking to be. It’s almost like a green arrow clone, but less dark, IMO.
Ok… I’d read all the reviews, but I still like to see the first episode of any show to see if the majority is right, or wrong. I also pay attention to the critics who laud a turd like Iron Fist because they’re either easily entertained idiots, or paid schills. I can ignore them in the future.
So I watched the first episode. I couldn’t finish it. It was an insult to my intelligence. Saw maybe the first 30 mins of it, and I already hated the main character for being an idiot. the plot had holes, but to have soooo many holes it pretty much doesn’t exist.
Our bad guy is bad because when he was a kid he tossed some Monopoly pieces on the floor and blamed it on Rand.
The main character is a horrible action star. He’s supposed to be a Kung master, but he’s so slow a stroke victim could hit him twice before he decided to do anything.
Rand also at one point has “a really bad headache.”
So much of the dialogue is pointless and adds nothing to character development or plot.
Calling this show dogshit is an insult to dogshit.
The first episode was bad. The main baddie isn’t the asshole brother, but someone else. I’m sure most reviews only did it on the first show.
Again, it’s ok. Agreed that the acting is bad and the martial arts are to be desired.
It’s not that the first episode is bad…it most decidedly is…it’s that it’s so bad I’m amazed you even said “first episode.” How anyone could watch the next episode after the first is beyond me. I watched up until the point jackass meets his father who’s dead, who is obviously the main baddy…who must be a fucking idiot because he faked his death 12 years ago and now has to live life in seclusion to live the lie. He’s a moron. What idiot fakes his death, and then traps himself in an ivory tower for no discernible reason? This is something a watcher needs to know within the first 15-20 mins.
Also, the homeless guy can’t act either…most of this cast can’t act.
For those of you not sold on my take here are a couple of reviewers I tend to like. The first one is a huge comics fan and knew the story as told by the comics before he saw the show.
This link is to probably the most respected critical reviewers out there. Before he passed Ebert signed off on and hired these guys. I haven’t had a major disagreement with them yet.
Even if you have no intention of watching this show, you absolutely must watch, and read these two reviews. It’s just fun shitting on an obvious turd.
I did watch season 2 and thought is was marginally better than the first, it was obviously not enough to save the series.
