You don’t have to be in the Dashboard preview program.
Xbox has a game preview program like Steam(Early Access), It is in the game store. There are a few other games in the program already. If you go to the store and hit “browse all” I think you will find it at the bottom. There is a 60 minute trial but unless you watch some Let’s Play videos you will be lost the whole 60 minutes.
