Microsoft Flight Simulator’s next big update has landed, making several big changes to the UK and Ireland. World Update 3 adds new airports, over 70 custom landmarks, and features improved 3D photogrammetry for some of England’s cities.
Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann says that World Update 3: United Kingdom & Ireland includes high-resolution 3D photogrammetry for five cities across England, including Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, London, and Oxford. There’s also five new hand-crafted custom airports (Barra, Liverpool, Land’s End, Manchester-Barton and Out Skerries), visual improvements to 85 more airports, and much of the UK has been updated with improved digital elevation.
Asobo Studio has been hard at work, adding over 70 custom points of interest throughout the UK. The trailer above shows numerous highly-detailed, iconic landmarks such as Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral, Spinnaker Tower, Buckingham Palace, and many more. The update also adds in a few activities, including an Iconic Flight in the Northern Isles, and two Landing Challenges: One up north on the Shetland archipelago, and another in Southeast England.
