Mutant Football League

Every year a new Madden game comes and goes. You get to play as your favorite teams and players in a pseudo-simulation of America’s favorite sport. It’s great for fans but some of us remember a time when options weren’t so limited. We remember cracking bones and boosting down the field in games like NFL Blitz and some of us even long for those days when sports games really embraced being a game.

Mutant Football League is one developer’s answer to that. Featuring mutants and football, obviously this is a game that doesn’t take itself seriously. But that doesn’t mean the gameplay isn’t solid. If you’re interested, take a look at the two streams below where famed streamer Crumps2 takes on a friend in an early version of the game.

Mutant Football League is currently slated to launch sometime this Spring for Xbox One.

The next-gen spiritual successor to the 1993 Sega Genesis Mutant League Football will also come with voice-over acting from the one and only Tim Kitzrow. If you’re unfamiliar with the name then you’ll likely be more than familiar with the voice, as Tim has worked on one of the best basketball games of all time, NBA JAM.
