Neverwinter Elemental Evil later later this year.

Announced back in January, Cryptic Studios has now officially released the latest expansion for their free-to-play PC and Xbox One MMORPG Neverwinter, Elemental Evil, although only on PC for now.

This latest update to the continually growing Dungeons & Dragons-based MMORPG adds the long-awaited Paladin class, a fundamental staple since MMORPGs began, despite carrying various monikers in other games. As any veterans of other games in this genre will tell you, the Paladin
combines the life-saving abilities of healers with the smash-and-bash strengths of the tank classes, creating a very group-friendly hybrid class.

Additional changes are the arrival of Minsc and his space-hamster Boo to the main city, an increase in the level cap from 60 to 70, new sets of quests, new class-specific slottable powers, and new feats to use.

Nathan Stewart, Brand Director of Dungeons & Dragons, has this to say about the expansion:

D&D players have fought the forces of Elemental Evil before but there is a new twist with cult leaders like Aerisi, the elven prophetess ruling the Cult of the Howling Hatred, and the three other elemental prophets
playing a deceptive role as the story is brought to life for Neverwinter players. Continuing their partnership with Wizards of the Coast, this expansion’s arrival follows along with the related tabletop D&D adventure release, Princes of the Apocalypse.

Additional screenshots for the expansion can be seen below. Although PC players are already exploring the dangers of the expansion, Xbox One fans will have to wait just a little longer, with Elemental Evil set to release on the Xbox One version later this year.

I wonder if we will have to pay for the expansion.
