Next CoD will be full on Sci Fi

File this under “Something no one wants!” [The next CoD might be set in the very far future.]

“makes Black Ops 3 feel like the stone age”.

Ugh, do not want. Worried it will be more twitch, low Time to Kill nonsense. Only plus is it won’t be a sequel to Ghosts…

Rumours say that this year’s installment of Call of Duty, developed by Infinity Ward, will be “full on sci-fi” with space combat - and will not be a sequel to the same developer’s Call of Duty: Ghosts.

On NeoGAF, proven industry insider, shinobi602 has said that the new game’s future setting “makes Black Ops 3 feel like the stone age”. When asked if he meant the game would be in the style of Battlefield 2142, he simply replied: “Very far future. Space Combat. Full on sci-fi.”

Eurogamer followed up the story by saying that it had independently heard similar details, adding that it will not be a direct sequel to Infinity Ward’s last game, Ghosts.

At this point it would be a miracle if I bought the next COD.

I’m about there as well. I’ll probably pick it up solely for Community Nights as we can get 18 in a room.

Pass for me no matter what the theme and setting are. I said I wasn’t going to buy anymore after Ghost and made that mistake. I just won’t play it enough to warrant spending $60.

I will pick it up but not the season pass this time.

Better to get BF and take turns renting a GRG server for 3 months for community nights IMO

We have talked about this before and we never do it because on the X1 side we haven’t had enough to warrant it. I hope that changes with BF5.

I will pick up BF too. Maybe we can generate more interest in the game this time.

No thanks. I haven’t even bought COD:BO3 yet. No desire to either. No sale has urged me. I’m tired of the modern/futuristic warfare stuff.

I will most definitely get BF5.

I am talking about now with the sorry state cod is in and now private matches are unreliable. If you rent and password a server on weds everyone gets in to server then you can switch teams as you see fit. Fuck 18 you could have 18 on each side

This is hopefully what i will be looking to do on PS4 side maybe alongside catsweat if there is enough interest

Yea, gonna be a wait and see thing this year. I’m sure I will end up picking it up to play with the group that will inevitably be playing.

I will be looking forward the BF5. I would be down for a private server on the X1.

Actually space combat sounds so funny it might be fun. Depending on where the developers go with “space combat” might consider.

They could put it wherever they want, it’s still call of duty, and it’s still going to be the same thing with a different skin.

No thanks

Skipping. Beer sounds like a better use of my money.

I have always liked BF more than CoD and think we could do great things with a BF server and clan night. Problem here is the servers are normally hosed as well as the game is buggy as shit on launch. That and comms are crap. Game comms have been kept to in squad and party chat has only now improved to 12. The only thing that older CoD titles had going for it was comms, but I guess with BO3 that got broke.

Xbox actually has 16 now. Not sure if it’s on the preview only or full release.

What’s preview?

The one I never sent you an invite for.

It’s full release now.
