In a Galaxy far, far away they ruin another franchise…
If rumors are true it looks like Star Wars Episode 9 will be the end of Jedi and Sith. I can’t imagine this is possibly true as lightsabers sell which we all know is the true power of Star Wars… Merchandising.
But if so? Are you prepared to see the final battle of Jedi vs Sith? And with this shit show of a trilogy?
Star Wars: Rise of the Skywalker is promising to shake things up in a big way if a new rumour is to be believed. No more Sith, no more Jedi and, potentially if that rings true, no more lightsabers. It’s looking like the triple-trilogy topper that is Star Wars: Episode 9 will end more than you bargained for come December, including thousands of years of conflict between the yin and the yang of the Star Wars universe.
You’ve probably already witnessed the massive Vanity Fair blowout reveal of Star Wars: Episode 9 but tucked away in the piece by Lev Grossman is an interesting tidbit from an unnamed source: “Sources close to the movie say that Skywalker will at long last bring to a climax the millennia-long conflict between the Jedi Order and its dark shadow, the Sith.”
Lightsabers are as big apart of Star Wars as anything you can think of to relate the franchise to, of course the Force is probably just as big of a factor. Merchandising? Yes from a business sense but from a lore perspective it wouldn’t make much sense as it just so prominent in the entre universe; cannon or not. But in this day in age it seems writers dont care if they go off the deep end and piss their core fan base off.
The ultimate goal was always to bring balance so maybe that’s the correlation of no more Jedi and Sith? Do we finally see that? There will always be good vs evil though.
That is the only thing I could think of that could do away with both in some fashion. Well if this is ruined we can look forward to our great GoTs directors to take it one step further in the next one. SMH.
