MMO ROUND UP

  • Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire

    • With the new expansion announced last week; Players will get to visit a familiar place from the orginial Guild Wars, Crystal Desert.

    • ArenaNet is letting everyone “preview” the expansion on August 11th till August 13th.

    • Another Preview Event August 18 -20

      • Players will be able to experience the new elite specializations for the first time in PvP and WvW

    • The Path of Fire expansion is set to launch on September 22.

  • Albion Online
    A new Sandbox MMORPG by Sandbox Interactive released July 17, 2017.

    • Have you ever wanted to be a powerful knight, facing down monsters and protecting your friends? That’s an option. Or perhaps a powerful sorceress, blasting a monster from the distance with fire magic? Also a choice. But what if you just want to relish the simple life of a lumberjack, farmer or merchant? All of these are options in Albion Online.

    Little is needed to even explain WoW to anyone. If you havent heard of this game then either I feel sorry for your very limited access to the world of gaming or you have been somehow magically surpassed the last decade of gaming news.

    • Released November 23, 2004, this game still continues to be the MMO Top Runner for other MMOs to beat.

Possible Olympic event?

  • Apparently there is a conversation that will be happening with the International Olympic Committee and eSports representatives about the full-fledged inclusion of competitiive video gaming when the Olympic Games comes to France in 2024.

    • Roughly has earned $2.83 million. He has won 67 tournaments over the course of his life raking in an average of $42 thousand at each one.

What is eSports?
A form of competition that is facilitated by electronic systems, particularly video games; the input of players and teams as well as the output of the eSports system are mediated by human-computer interfaces.

  • Most commonly, eSports take the form of organized, multiplayer video game competitions, particularly between professional players.
  • The most common video game genres associated with eSports are real-time strategy, fighting, first-person shooter (FPS), and multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA).

NBA 2K18

  • September 2017
    • NBA 2K18, like the previous games in the series, is based on the sport of basketball; more specifically, it simulates the experience of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Several game modes are present, including the team-managing MyGM and MyLeague modes, which were a considerable emphasis during development, and MyCareer, in which the player creates and plays through the career of their own player. Marvel vs Capcom Infinite

Middle-earth: Shadow of War

South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Star Wars Battlefront II

    • This follow-up to the 2015 Star Wars multiplayer battle game promises “bigger and better worlds” and content from the new films in the Star Wars franchise.

    • Battlefront II’s campaign will take place in the 30-year period between the end of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The story will follow protagonist Iden Versio, who leads an elite Imperial unit called Inferno Squad, and players will get the chance to play as well-known characters like Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren during the campaign.
