PS4 Firmware Update 7.00 Beta Sees 16-Player Parties and Improved Voice Chat

Sony is sending out invites to beta testers to trial their latest PS4 firmware update 7.00. The update increases the number of players in a party from 8 to 16 and also improves the quality of voice chat.

If you or a friend has received one of the codes — share it! Sony wants you to get your friends involved as the beta codes can be used up to a total of 20 times. There is a small caveat with this; you won’t be able to join Parties or use the Share Play feature with other non-testers until the trial is over.

Another big feature included in the 7.00 update is improvements made to the update process itself. Your PS4 won’t always need to restart to complete the installation of a new system upgrade. Certain system updates will install themselves automatically while in rest mode, freeing up your time and allowing you to jump into your favourite games quicker.

These are excellent QoL updates.
Praise be.
Hopefully I’m in the beta list, will have to wait and see.
