A leak on a Sony Retail Loyalty site, which gives video games retail employees a chance to win prizes, has revealed a promotion that runs from May 14th through June 10th. What’s interesting though is the prizes listed in the promotion. As you can see in the image below, the PS4 is listed as having a retail value of $349.99 while the Vita is listed as having a retail value of $89.00. So if the price cuts were to be announced at E3, that would be a $50 price cut for the PS4 and a $110 price cut for the Playstation Vita!
PS4 for $350 seems legit, it’s been 18 months, xbox already dropped their price (due to lower sales), and an E3 announcement sounds like the usual place for something like this.
The Vita on the other hand… $89!!! that’s super cheap. They are currently selling for $199, $179 on sale, but thats the lowest. $150, sure. $130? maybe. $89??? I’ll buy the shit out of it. Then remote play my games while i shit on my toilet. like a boss.
maybe a vita/ps4 bundle, but then it wouldn’t seperate the items the same as the vita TV and long board. and that would still be only ~$430.
Does anyone in the clan own a Vita? I thought about buying one, but I just can’t find a good reason to. I used to have the old PSP, but it’s been phased out.
Few friends has one and enjoy it. My one buddy is in the AC business, if the general contractor isn’t there, he plays his Vita till he shows up.
I want one but I’m never traveling. I’m 10 min from work and I drive. And if I’m home I wanna play on my TV.
Rumor is the next version will have hdmi out, which would be perfect.
If you like jrpg’s then it’s a must buy.
I have a vita. It’s great for traveling or if I’m sitting in a different town while one of my kids is at a practice.

you can get a PS4 all day for $350, and usually with games.
im kinda worried about the vita price drop. if it falls that low without a Vita 2.0, than that basically means that sony is done with it.
Well, considering Andrew House called the Vita a “legacy platform” recently, I have a feeling that there may be merit to all of this:
House also cast a dim view of the company’s handheld business. While he noted that the Vita platform remains “strong and vibrant” in Asia and Japan, his outlook for the current fiscal year included declines in the US and Europe. Additionally, he referred to the PlayStation Vita and its microconsole counterpart the PlayStation TV as “legacy platforms” when discussing a write-off of hardware components for the two.
well the vita TV was def a failure… and that sucks cuz it could have been so awesome, but it’s so limited, it can’t even play all the vita games for fucks sake.
