PUBG console update 6.2 adds cross-party play and Team Deathmatch

Update 6.2 for consoles has finally made its way to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and with it comes cross-party play, a team-deathmatch mode and balance changes to throwables.

Cross-play was introduced into PUBG a while back, but this latest update finally allows for Xbox One players to party up with their friends on PS4. The friends list has had a rework. Now you’ll be able to search for players from either platform and add them using their Gamertag or PSN username.

Also included in this update is the new 8v8 Team Deathmatch mode. The game mode can only be played from the first-person perspective, and the team that either reaches 50 kills first or has the most kills after ten minutes wins. There are no knockdowns in Team Deathmatch, health can regenerate, and players can respawn – just like any traditional Team Deathmatch mode.

Significant changes have also been made to throwables. The Frag Grenade has had a significant nerf to its damage, and the Molotov’s fire spread rate has been increased by 50%. Stun Grenades have also had a buff with their effective range being increased by a meter.

Update 6.2 is now live and available to download.
