PUBG Xbox One Tip & Tricks

Starting this thread to help out others. If you have some tips or tricks to share post them below.

Tips:

  1. When sky diving to get the farthest you possibly can move you camera so that you are looking up at your body. You won’t be able to see where you are going so line yourself up before changing the camera

  2. When skydiving pressing forward will speed you up, holding back will slow you down.

  3. If you are running behind the blue circle and taking damage heal up every once in awhile and you may make it. If you are down to just a sliver of health pop a bandage first. It activates faster and may give you enough time to then pop a first aid/med kit. Remeber the smaller the circle the harder it hits so take that into account.

  4. Use your buffs. The yellow/orange bar over your health is your buff bar. Buffs give you a speed burst and heal over time. If you are in the last circle you want to be fully buffed so you may want to save them until then.

  5. Holding down the Right Bumper will allow you to free look with the right stick while running in 3rd person. This is great for getting a 360 degree look around you.

  6. Once you feel fully geared drop your pistol. This will keep you from having to cycle through your pistol when changing weapons. More than likely you are going to die before you actually need your pistol. Again this is after you have 2 main weapons and ammo for them.

  7. Attachments, attachments, attachments the more you have on your weapon the better chance you have of killing someone. Iron sights are pretty tuff to use so keep a look out for those scopes.

  8. If you don’t have a bandage, first aid, or medkit use your buffs to heal.

  9. If you are running from the circle holster your weapon. You will run much faster.

I will post more as I think of them. Please post yours if you have some.

I’ve found most success in getting deep into the game by, once the circle starts, looking for the direction where people wouldn’t be normally coming from, and trying to get on that side. That way, it’s unlikely people are coming in on the same vector as you as the circle shrinks.

What is the setting to adjust ads with a red dot or holographic sight? I’d like that to move faster.

Also think it lags a bit when you first pull up the sight.

Speaking of RDS or holographic, you can adjust the brightness when you ADS by - if I recall - holding RB and then using stick to adjust. Doesn’t save between games or even between guns, so is a bit of a PIA for sure, but possible.

I never understood that. It is a bug?
Also, I thought another tactic was to hold down forward for a couple of seconds (to pick up speed for your forward trajectory), then let off (to reduce downward speed) and just keep cycling like that.

I do this when dropping down from the plane too, especially when near the ground to spot any other 'chutes near you.

  1. I don’t know if the meta has evolved but be aware that although some people will leave doors open when looting houses, to make it obvious someone is there and that others should avoid, others will also intentionally close doors after / behind them, to lure unsuspecting players in / make them waste time on searching empty buildings.
Bathrooms especially seem to be deathtraps, since they don’t have any windows or other doors for you to spot the waiting assailant.

  2. Be wary of vehicles abandoned on the edges of circles (or anywhere that isn’t a typical spawn), usually another player/group used it to get there and they could still be nearby.
