Recommend a Phone

not sure, but you may want to check.

You have to go to the verizon site and enable the discount. They wonā€™t do it automatically (of course).

so what if I were to just buy a new phone unlocked for like 500 bucks Iā€™d be saving $100 a month wouldnā€™t would that be the smart thing to do instead of a two year contract with a discount

Not sure Iā€™m following you. You get the $25 a month discount for not being under contract. Buy whatever phone you want from anywhere. Just donā€™t take their ā€œfreeā€ phone deal and renew your 2 year contract. As long as you are not under contract, you get the discount.

@Audible_Silence Is your contract an edge contract? Or is it a new every 2 years? They have two types of plans. I was $40 a month per smart phone under the new every 2 year deal. Meaning Iā€™d have to pay part of the phone out of pocket.

The edge plan is different, you may not have that.

I bought my phone for $50 and signed a 2 year service contract. None of that edge phone contract stuff. I own my phone. Ill have to check out the fine print of the site and crunch some numbers

Youā€™re not on Edge at the moment so youā€™re not eligible for that deal on your current plan. I had the same plan that you have now. We switched to Edge. I think itā€™s a scam that will bite me in the ass in 2 years. But who knows wtf will happen with wireless in 2 years.

Stop by a Verizon store and check out your options.

I have AT & Tā€™s version of this. We own our phones so itā€™s $15.00 a month and no contract. Plenty of phones for sale on Ebay and Amazon. I know some people buy them off of Craigā€™s list if you are the adventurous sort.

Theyā€™ve actually expanded this to the more everything plans, as long as youā€™re out of contract. I just enabled the discount to two lines that went out of contract in January.

i dunno, verizons site is slow as poop from the shop pc.
i guess i can switch to an everything plan? but i would still be at $80/mo instead of $89ā€¦ im outta patience waiting for the site to load. my plan now is $20 for 450 min/mo, $20 for text, and $30 for 2gig dataā€¦ ehā€¦

I know you got a phone but didnt wanna make a new thread. here is a bunch of leaked info on the new HTC ONE coming out next week.

No removable battery makes this a no go for me. A removable and long lasting battery were two of the main things I was looking at in a phone. I wanted to be able to actually use the phone all day. And I wanted the option of getting a new battery when this one slowly died (they all do).

Iā€™m digging the Note 4, itā€™s a solid phone and nearly everything Iā€™ve wanted. The only thing Iā€™m not crazy about is the size. Which Iā€™m getting used to. Itā€™s nice having that big screen. It does suck as it feels like I have a plank of wood in my front pocket.

so i the other day google+ decided to use 1.5 gigs of data for now reason. I called verizon to get a gig of data added for freeā€¦ long story short, dude said that if i switch to a more everything plan, i save $10 a month AND get a $25 credit for being out of contract.

so if you are out of contract call your carrier.

My phone did the same thing. One Saturday, it went crazy and used over a gig and I wasnā€™t using it. Pissed me off.

How long does the battery last ? Did you root it >?

The battery is huge and easily lasts all day. You canā€™t root these phones yet. I canā€™t wait until I can, there is an awesome ad blocker I want (Adaway).

hmmmmm, canā€™t wait to root a phoneā€¦ funny, i donā€™t feel the same way with my iPhone. never felt that needā€¦

Yes, I never heard of jailbreak before.

Thatā€™s just something disgruntled android users do to innocent iPhones.
