Rock Band 4 Interview With Harmonix

Better lace up your Converse sneakers and break out the muscle rub for those sore shredding joints, because the musical games genre is making a comeback. As previously covered in March, Rock Band 4 will be making its way to current-gen consoles sometime this year.

Daniel Sussman of Harmonix answers some questions in the interview below about changes to the franchise with this latest installment. Although it was previously mentioned that they were attempting to ensure old instruments will work with this latest installment, he now confirms this is definitely the case. Other highlights include a new mechanic to go ‘off script’ and freestyle to an extent during certain portions of tracks, a voting mechanic for the group to decide what to play next during a set, better audience feedback, and continued affirmation that previously purchased DLC tracks will carry over.

Lastly, if you’re interested in shaping the title, head over to Harmonix’s website, because they are still taking community input for setlists. Watch the video below for the full scoop.

Rock Band 4 does not have a firm release date, but is still set for a 2015 launch. We’ll keep you informed as soon as we know more!
