Despite their potential, detective games are somewhat rare so it was a pleasant surprise when L.A. Noire was published by one of the industry’s biggest names in Rockstar back in 2011. A neo-noir detective game set in Los Angeles — the title was pretty self-explanatory — the player experienced the trials and tribulations of Cole Phelps as he rose through the ranks of the Los Angeles Police Department in the late 1940s. Well, Rockstar are providing a chance for anyone who missed it first time round (or just want an excuse to play through it again) with a remaster coming to current-generation consoles.
As one might expect, this new version will come with the original game, as well as all the downloadable content that was released. In addition, this remaster will come with a variety of technical enhancements including high-resolution textures, new cinematic camera angles and much more. Finally, the remaster will be at 1080p on Xbox One and 4K on Xbox One X, with the latter in particular showing the grit and grime of 1940s Los Angeles like never before.
You won’t have much longer to wait for this new version either, as L.A. Noire comes to current-gen on November 14th.
